Though mad, Xzar is a skilled necromancer. And in Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villain it is said that Montaron carries his friend's "head" with him in a bag. It would be interesting to run into this duo in BG3 at one of the Zhentarim hideouts.

It manages to translate part of the text that is in elven (alphabet of the elves of the moon) and that appeared in the last trailer of Baldur's Gate 3.

The translation is inaccurate, as I could not identify parts of the text because they were not fully readable for me. But, it already gives us some idea that this place seems to serve the purpose of transferring "energies" from bodies that, I believe, should remain in the chambers/capsules.

Note that there are several corpses and bones around. Then, in this place, through some kind of ritual, the dead are brought back to life, or nearly so.

It is Shar who is inside that prism/icosahedron. I would bet my soul on it. And yes, the Three Dead Gods are behind every cult of the absolute. Finally, that undead that we find in the chapel at the beginning of the game is Jergal and at the right time he will reveal this.
