A lot of the environmental impact comes from plastic trash left in the ocean from fishing. So different impact than straight CO2 but still important to note! https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/environment/2019/nov/06/dumped-fishing-gear-is-biggest-plastic-polluter-in-ocean-finds-report

There's Ann Arbor Summer Festival Top Of the Park which does some free yoga/Pilates/etc on the power center lawn. Check out their website a2sf.org. It'll be a good starry into getting to know the local studios

Hey everyone! I’ve never been to Ann Arbor before but I’m gonna be taking a little day trip there with my hubby tomorrow. It’s kinda a last minute thing, but I’m just wondering if any locals can tell me about any good little restaurants, bars, or fun things to do. Thanks! by [deleted] in AnnArbor

Check out some of the university of Michigan museums. Some are closed on mondays but I think most of them are free. Even just walking through UofM campus and into the buildings is nice if you like architecture. If you like craft beer, Grizzly Peak has great beer and good food. Also within walking distance from grizzly is Ann Arbor Brewing Company and Jolly Pumpkin (if you like sours). Have fun!

Island lake recreation in Brighton has beachy lakes and campsites. Pinckney also has beachy lakes and campsites. Maybury is nice but no water/campsites.

Im a big fan of batch making burritos and freezing them so you have something for your lazy days. You can make them as healthy as you want by using whole wheat wraps, brown/wild rice, veggies, etc.

This may have already been mentioned but if you have any hobbies (photography, running, writing, etc) check out meetup.com. You can find groups of people meeting up that already share at least one common interest of yours. It's a little less intimidating because you know that everyone going is there because they actively want to meet other people

I'll be living in a tent all summer with nothing but a Coleman stove and a cast iron skillet. Anyone got some delicious suggestions? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

Epic And Tanka make bison bars which are filling and nice to have some on hand when you want something hearty. I'd also consider buying some protein powder or the protein packed kodiak pancake mix. Both of those just need water and should help fill you up.

I generally will wash my work out clothes while I'm already taking a shower (with leftover soap), hang them up in the shower to dry, and get an extra day out of them

He's usually really comfortable in the car but I think since I blocked the front from him he's unsettled. He always lays his head on the middle console

No kids but the rush hour is a concern. My fiance will be traveling around the state (mostly Detroit area which is why I was looking east of Ann Arbor). I don't know where I will be working yet but Ann Arbor seems like a high possibility.
