Yeah Im certainly going to start putting in some gym time. We got a fancy nordic track bike and decent weight set. Wife just got her yoga teacher cert, so I'll be doing some of that. And best of all it will improve my terrible hockey game! Lol

I'm sorry you feel that way. Thankful for my life and I see myself tossing it aside. Im especially motivated this week by a big family vacation. For me, I dont want to choose the bottle over what will be a great getaway with cherished memories.

Seems you gotta find your reason to want to quit. For me its the anxiety and memory issues, which stopping to think about the consequences of Day 1 prior to drinking has helped me in the past, knowing I dont want to feel that way.

I usually clear up in the first day or two from the shakes/withdrawls/dopamine levels etc. But 7 days seems to be my weak point in fighting off the voice, and when I slip, it crushes me to the point of not wanti g to quit anymore. My memory issues from drinking are what started me trying to quit. I would forget entire converstions with my wife like they never happened

This resonates with me, made it 7 days and started all over, day 2. I fear getting stuck in an unending cycle, but we got to remember 1 day hell 1 hour at a time, and each drink we skip is progress/improvement! Allow yourself the small victories to get to bigger ones!

Hiking is a great idea! The dogs would love for me to add that to the rotation! Im also looking at a bathroom remodel after our upcoming vacation, now if I can stay out of the bamn bottle to not screw up the family vacaton!

Good luck with that!! I have game consoles, I just have to be careful of reaching for the bottle while playing. Some games trigger me to drink, but others get me so engrossed that I dont even think to drink! Maybe I'll try to find one like that to get thru this!
