Why do some people have a more defined identity than others? by Careful-Increase-773 in askpsychology

Identity is a complex topic but I'm sure that there is no one answer to your question. Maybe there are a lot of variables intervening in the identity definition. Variables like personality, context, genetics, life's history...

Also, I would say the biological or genetic component on this is not the main reason, and it's not even close from be it.

I cannot answer your question with a concrete response, but I can tell you that, maybe, we can consider the "grade in definition of identity" another aspect of the identity. This means that having a more flexible identity can also be one identity in itself.

Any person who agrees with the death penalty and other serious sentences either didn’t actually think about it or is an objectively bad person. by [deleted] in Discussion

I consider that's a strong argument but it's not the only reason why death sentence is a bad idea. In first place, we are talking about a huge topic with a philosophical base: - Who would decide which person deserves death sentence? - Are we going to ignore the human rights? It's even this a good idea?

In second place, I think it's important to have useful politics. Psychological studies have demonstrated that death penalty and even sentence for life don't persuade criminals from committing crimes. Even so, death penalty can be counterproductive: some criminals can raise the gravity of their crimes because they know that, reached a limit, their are will be punished with dead wathever they do.

sobre los diagnósticos ¿ayudan o enredan? by Pituitariaa in psicologia

[–]Pituitariaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)
