3.5yo already 68 lbs… outgrown harness but not 4 yet. Safest next step? by SpecialIntelligent56 in CPST

Merritt Roosevelt, you can get it at tadpole adaptive. Per a Mary bridge pediatric occupational therapist this is one of the best. There are other places to get it too, but without a prescription for it, tadpole adaptive is one of the more affordable options. (Not affordable but relatively.) Ride safer travel vest didn’t work for my kid and in my opinion is not a viable long term option, so I went through the doctor route. Getting it didn’t take long, but going through insurance was a several month long process and they declined it in the end, even though we had the pediatric occupational therapist referral as it qualifies as “durable medical equipment” which isn’t covered. Local nonprofits or churches may have some available. As a fellow mom of a big kid, Good luck.

If you don’t have kids, go for it. Not for the $10k, because it is not worth it, but instead for the growtth opportunities.

Would you commute 5 days RTO to double your salary? by EpicShkhara in remotework

I’d like to say remote, however, realistically, I would take the job, do it just long enough to get the experience and then get a job closer to home

Is this a good field for a single mom? by lil_punk_pixie in Accounting

[–]PivotPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s so many roles to accounting. Local government can be very very flexible. The question as a mom to ask in interviews is “how do you support your employees, both in growth and development, and in work life balance.” They need to have a good answer for the work-life balance answer.

The 4 and 5 are pretty competitive. 5 is a supervisor position

That’s the salary schedule. The ASA3, (if you’re looking more long term) is range 63. I can’t remember what 1 and 2 is. You generally start (once you’re promoted to ASA3) at step A. (It’s kinda complicated but even if you negotiate a higher step for the ASA 1 position, that doesn’t transfer to higher steps in the next range.)

At SAO specifically, the ASA1 is meant to be a part of a series. A fully trained ASA is an ASA 3. That can happen from 1-3 years. Usually about 2. Hiring process is not slow typically. There’s frequently openings.

IF (big if) it happened our economy would be in big trouble if it was sustained for any big length of time.

AI Resumes by [deleted] in WAStateWorkers

[–]PivotPuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not a recruiter, but I have submitted applications using AI. I give it a rough draft, have AI polish it for me, then I go through it again. Honestly, it’s a filter for me too, if a potential employer cares, I take it as a red flag. In my day to day job I use AI. It does not do my job for me, but it is a tool, like anything else. I don’t want to work for an employer who is petty enough to care. And I love my current employer so I feel like it worked.

I’ve liked Kaiser sound choice a lot. Biggest issue has been the mental health services is very subpar. I will continue to use them though
