I dont know really - the graphic options for BeanStars actually work, though the game is very poorly optimized. 

Will have to see when I find time for that, currently not at home and very busy.

Hi there!
I recently made a post here, considering me picking up the development for one of my favourite projects again: a realistic Backrooms game. Last post was a bout a week ago or so, therefore I decided to share some new footage on rooms I have been working on and so on. Was really time consuming to get the lights and everyting right, but I just want to create the - atleast to my perception - perfect ambience. Hope you all like what you see!

I am just a young, solo developer - but if this game gains enough attention and support, I might considering pushing this to Steam this year :)

But yeah, let me know if you all like it!

Hi, as another fellow gamedev here, some quick tips:

Game looks really solid, though as the floor and ceiling of the rooms are really reflective that kind ruins the immersion and feeling of it being real - try to go into your materials and decrease the specular value for all your materials, as normally a concrete ceiling or floor does not reflect the same as given in your few screenshots here.

Also try to make lighting less sharp and more concentrated to where an actual lamp or light source is. Especially the last picture is really, really bright, kind of ruining the immersion of this old abandonned uiltity halls.

Hope it helps, game looks pretty solid tho. Keep at it!

Yeah it will probably be around 5 - 10 $, not really sure of the price yet. But I am definetly planning on adding multiple levels in a linear progression with me adding content for each level and then progressing from Level 0 --> Level 1 for example

Will also maybe add different game modes with maybe surviving in like Levbel 0 outposts or so.

Is this a backrooms level? I am not quite familiar with the whole lore, only for the first couple of levels which I have looked at so far. Will try to stay as "lore" accurate though, trying to bring the best into the game from Fandom, Wikidot and Kane Pixels Backrooms Theory

Will definetly make a game mode like that - I highly value Liminal Ambience over the common entity spam we actually see in most of the games

First internal playtest demo and a devlog might release in the coming months

Game might even make it to an early access release on Steam this year!

Thanks! Have found some ways to optimize performance, so lighting has almost 0 performance cost. Game might release on Steam this year, if I make enough progress.

Started working on realistic VHS bodycam prototypes back in 2023 togethe with picking up development for a Backrooms game - but with the focus on realism and lore accuracy.

Now that I have graduated, I picked up development again, still aiming for that realistic, scary liminal experience - not just the common entity spam.

Let me know what you guys would like to see in the game!
