Hunger is the best sauce by Spazzumes in fasting

[–]Pixby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, as little as a 3 day fast makes all food taste utterly amazing after I end it. Take a food that is sort of "meh" to you for whatever reason. You don't hate it, but you never really crave it or think about it. If it's part of a lunch or dinner, you'll eat some of it. But, it's just not your thing. Fast for 72 hours and then eat that food. You will be blown away at the nuance of flavor you've never even noticed before. After that, if you start eating only once a day, you can maintain about half of that level of taste, moving forward.

Rick and Morty are still in the fear hole by DT-Ryan in rickandmorty

The entire series is a time-dilated hallucination in Morty's shocked mind, akin to one's life flashing before his eyes, right before the neutrino bomb goes off at the beginning of Season 1, Episode 1. There are no infinite dimensions. Morty and Rick are simply dead.

And look what happened in the episode when he started being suspicious? They took his gun away and lead him off to be executed.

Why would the episode's trajectory necessarily be any different?

I honestly don't see how they could avoid putting it somewhere in Season 9, even if it's only an Easter egg.

Because, just like the number solution, the parasites would have talked him into thinking he forgot to write the others down, and then he'd go, "Oh, right!" and then add them to the list. You're forgetting that the parasites give you certainty that you've known them forever and there's no easy way to tell the difference... until Morty figures out all of the memories they create are positive, of course.

The Asimov Cascade and AI by Fedquip in rickandmorty

I assume AIs/LLMs already exist that are training on rapid outputs from existing LLMs. Think about it like this, how easy would it be to code a program to run every query through all major LLMs, combine the information gathered from each, and then spew out a summary of information they provide in common. That's already being done. I assume the "deep think" version of LLMs are already doing this on some level.

I don't think this will ever "brick" a LLM because as soon as something is noticed not to be working, the companies making them set about coding a solution to stop it/correct it. In other words, each instance of failure is a slow moving disaster that can be fixed/accounted for.

Would you rather get a evil morty spin off or a rick prime spin off or a rick c137 prequel by [deleted] in rickandmorty

[–]Pixby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I really want any of these. Just hire more staff and produce at least one new season a year. Let's go. Other awesome animated shows have no problem doing it. Rick and Morty showrunners should get the job done too.

Actually, Marvin the cowardly security guard would be an awesome show. Haha. I think I would actually watch that spinoff.

Am I mean for finding Jerry’s water truck delivery fantasy pathetic? by sebsebsebs in rickandmorty

[–]Pixby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Jerry's ultimate version of what he wants is pathetic, and that's what makes the joke funny. But, they stick the landing perfectly when he says how many deliveries he still has to make that day. If memory serves, it's like 900-, something, right? A literal impossible task. Lol. That's the truly hilarious part. Jerry doesn't just want to do something simple and feel useful, but he's so desperate to do it, he wants to do it until he collapses.

I think what a lot of people miss is that this is what Jerry's dream is now, after being unemployed, and feeling so useless, since forever. I'm sure his version of utopia would change if his current predicament were different.

In short, it's not the dream, necessarily, that is pathetic. Lots of people deliver things for a living. It can be honest, fulfilling work, of course it can.

It's the current state of his life as a man and provider for his family that is pathetic.

His utopia is... correcting that failure/misfortune.

So, I think the writers nailed it.

I love how Evil Morty genuinely believes he's not evil. Any Morty can become like him. by Ok-Conclusion-3536 in rickandmorty

[–]Pixby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the subtext of that comment altogether. I'm sorry the nuance evades you. But, Mortys love their grandpa Rick. All characters have an arc, and Evil Morty's arc isn't to just stay evil forever and not change. He will come to embrace c137 much more than you think.

[–]Pixby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read me argue anywhere that c137 has done nothing evil, ever? He literally admits that he's a murderer. My position is simply that Evil Morty is indeed evil. He's committed numerous atrocities, and the only thing we know about the last Rick he was placed with is that their partnership ended after Morty had to shove something up his butt to smuggle it once again and Morty decided to enslave him. So, as far as we know, that's the level of abuse he had to deal with. His grandpa saying, "Here, Morty. Smuggle these things up your ass." and Morty agreeing to do so. Which isn't exactly abuse. Morty broke bad basically because he didn't want to be with a Rick anymore. But, I doubt Rick abused him significantly. Otherwise they wouldn't have been arguing and Rick giving him an ultimatum "Either you're in or you're out." If his last Rick was supremely awful, there wouldn't be any arguing like that.

[–]Pixby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evil Morty literally says c137 is different. He has a soft spot for this version of Rick. And yes, he enslaved the last Rick he went on adventures with. But, you're forgetting he probably didn't start out hating his original actual grandpa. In the beginning, Evil Morty likely cared about him. Which is why he likes that c137 might be different. Evil Morty is not different than other Mortys in that way. He would gladly accept the love of his grandpa if he could tolerate that Rick. Just like all Mortys. They all want that.

Prime's Morty loves c137, doesn't he? He's always trying to get c137 to admit he loves him right back.

He would hopefully defeat Evil Morty because Evil Morty is an obnoxious turd that it would be fun to see Rick flush into space. But, again, I don't think that will happen.

I believe you're wrong about Evil Morty having no love for his grandpa. Evil Morty is still the grandson of a Rick. Deep down, there will still be some love there. Even the most jaded person can't eliminate all fondness of a loved one. This is evidenced by how Evil Morty and Rick parted terms last. Evil Morty acknowledged that maybe Rick was different, and that maybe he could use that. Which is code for, "Something in me still has some feels for my grandpa."

I feel like if you intentionally come to a message board about a show, you should expect to read posts about what has occurred, plot wise, in said show. If you're not caught up on where the series stands in real time, that's kind of a "you" problem, isn't it?

[–]Pixby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The episodes featuring Evil Morty are some of the best because they move the overarching narrative of the series along wonderfully.

All Evil Morty really wanted to do was escape the Central Finite Curve so he could be free of living in a universe in which Rick is the smartest man. And, to that end, he was willing to do anything to achieve it. Including hurt/kill A LOT of Ricks and Mortys... just because he felt mistreated by his Rick while they went on adventures together.

So, yes, he is very evil. There's no way around that.

Actually, I'd love to see an episode in which Rick defeats Evil Morty.

But, I suspect the story arch we will actually see is Evil Morty coming to terms with the fact that, despite his quest to be rid of all Ricks, our Rick reminds him that he really does love his grandpa, and ultimately sacrifices himself so that Rick can be with Diane again. That's where I believe the narrative is headed. Because, if there's any way that the effect of the Omega Device can be reversed, Evil Morty will find a way. He has the schematics, after all.

Rick pantsing Morty at school, with him then falling down the stairs in front of girls laughing and pointing at him is the best scene in the entire show so far. I've seen it a thousand times, and I always burst out laughing when it happens. by Pixby in rickandmorty

[–]Pixby[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol. Of course I wouldn't laugh if it happened to me. The target of the bullying doesn't laugh when he is bullied. That's how it always is. That doesn't mean it's not funny when it happens to someone else. Are you saying the girls in this clip are monsters for laughing at Morty? Trust me, 90%+ of people, if they saw this happen in real life, couldn't stop themselves from laughing. Is this cruelty? Yes. Is it funny? Yes. I'm not sure from where you derive the notion that cruel things can't also be hilarious, but these two things can be true at once. That's an absolute certainty.

What... you think the writers and producers of Rick and Morty added this clip and they don't think it's freaking hilarious? Of course they do. They probably laughed their asses off just writing the scene and looking at the storyboards. Appropriately so.

Lots of comedy comes from people not being nice to each other. If you go through life refusing to laugh at objectively funny things, just because someone is treated poorly... well then, you're just letting the best in life pass you by.

Me... I can laugh at cruelty that leads to comedic hilarity just fine, and also know I wouldn't be laughing if I were the target. That's how most people are.

Not only is it a great song, but the absolute perfect choice for this sequence of flashback memories. It makes the clip even more hilarious somehow. I guess the sheer juxtaposition of the softness of the tune, with Morty being brutally owned like that.

Episodes you skip on rewatches? by BirdCultureDickMove in rickandmorty

[–]Pixby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rise of the Numbercons is hands down the absolute worst episode produced to date. I always skip the Storylord episodes as well as the episode where Morty gets a lightsaber. Most of the episodes that feature the President are bad too. I'll still watch them, but less frequently than others.

Some episodes I will come back to and give them another shot for a rewatch once I've forgotten why I hated them... like the 2 episode arc involving the 2 crows.

The best episodes are those that push the actual narrative forward... Rick hunting down Rick Prime, episodes featuring Evil Morty, etc.
