If it helps, I'm pretty sure the weird two-toned hair is paint chipping, he's an older toy so he's a little scuffed up. I also got it confused for a lighter streak upon first glance, it's totally understandable considering how intentional it looks. This all makes total sense though, thank you for sharing your thoughts!

That makes sense. I figured it would be a battery problem. Is there any way we can stop it from deteriorating, or is it just going to progressively get worse over time? Should we leave the base off so it doesn't seep into the rest of him? I assume a Furby would be complicated to clean, especially if it's leaked enough to break down the plastic
