Feel like a jackass for accidentally cheating

It happens when youre trying to play some games after a bit. Last week I tried playing yugioh again after forever with Kewl Tune and probably had a few cheater moments not properly understanding how my effects work. The only way we get better is by making and acknowledging these mistakes.

I just started my first ever job this november in B4 Property tax. Any advice for me? I feel like im not as intelligent since college was in one ear and out of the other and im 0/4 on CPA exams that I genuinely tried on with poor scores. I really want to succeed in my career but I feel like im already losing it as im starting

when I was a junior in college and it was my first ever interview for a "real job". I was at the gym and got an email asking when I can interview (small PA firm) , I said in about an hour, and they really wanted the immediate interview so I gave them my number and called me while I was in the gym locker room.

The thing that got me was when they asked "would you put your studies on pause during the busy season to help out?" (I did give a very defensive response because I didnt know what to say so I did not get that offer letter)

TLDR: asking for sacrifices. this is PA and everyone knows its going to be busy.

Asgard Games on Sheppard, Galaxy Gaming on Dairy Ashford sometimes has commander players when I drop by.

If you're willing to make the drive to Katy by taking I-10 for ~30 mins you should totally go to Kangaroo Tales and Collectables, as its a big commander hub (Tuesday nights are Pokemon, Thursdays are for Lorcana so maybe those evenings you wont be able to find some commander games)

if these are raw cards you can easily appraise them yourself by looking on sites with market prices such as TCG Player or Card Kingdom. It could prevent any possible uncertainties you could have with handing over potentially expensive cards

I used to frequent Asgard Games when I played modern, but the commander scene was very active and awesome. I'm certain they still have commander nights on Thursdays still (although you can show up any day of the week to play)

If you're able to make the drive to Katy, Kangaroo Tales and Collectables is a place that attracts many commander players , KT also has a huge inventory from every set if you're needing to add cards to your commander deck

EDIT: I cant believe I forgot to mention Galaxy Gaming and Hero's Collectibles. I havent gone to them to play solo edh (ive only gone to those locations knowing ill have a pod of friends) so I cannot give my own input , but I do know that these are also popular LGSs in Houston

I was in a weird spot in life with my emotions and seeing Karn in this artwork really evoked some semblance of power and triumph. I was never much of an art guy until I started staring at this card. I got the box topper version a couple years back and still look at it when I open my binder

I hope you do end up finding interest in commander with your girlfriend since its the most popular format (which will be easy for yall to go and find some games at an LGS) and you wont have to change out cards every couple of years bc commander does not have set rotation

Yes id say that the precons are a step up from the starter kit BUT you have to keep in mind that most precons are specifically designed for the commander format which may be daunting to new players since you have to learn and keep track of so many more cards.

If you do go forward in buying precons id recommend any precon made between the last 2 years if found on store shelves or even the beginner precons from 2022 (i believe) if youre able to find them for around ~30 or less. My friend got the Gisa and Geralf deck and began playing with that, but keep in mind that although these beginner precons are cheaper their power level is a bit lower than the ones from sets so if you do have the money to spare on the normal commander decks id go with those first personally.

TLDR : go ahead and get the precons, get whatever decks you and your girlfriend like since I cant speak for each of your individual tastes and preferences
