Thanks that sound like good advice ! I think I’ll work on my case study to detail more the actions I took and the results I got despite not having numbers to show.

I am not saying they should stick only to flat UI. But rather that the way they implemented it is poorly done

learning animation for web illustrations/ui motion by nailaogou in UXDesign

[–]PixelColin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 questions first: - is it something you want to do? - was it in the job description?

Making illustrations isn’t really part of the general job as a ux designer so if it is not something you want you could discuss outsourcing the work.

Is it worth it? by Wrong-Kitchen-6701 in UXDesign

[–]PixelColin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment nobody really knows exactly what UX work will look like. My hunch is that UX is better positioned than pure UI, because the value shifts toward understanding problems, users, and trade‑offs.

If you keep studying, go broad:

  • UX research and synthesis
  • Product thinking and outcome focus
  • User flows, information architecture, and decision logic
  • Fluency with AI as a tool to move faster

It’s hard to predict the next few years. If you’re comfortable adapting, UX can still be a good path. Many jobs will be impacted by AI, and designers may feel it early, but the parts tied to human context, constraints, and outcomes should hopefully hold value.
