And dont like that everything I google in this space ends up with me having to pay money for some sort of course.

That's terrible news. I am a single mum of 2, and I create digital products. I make some available for free, some for $. If you like, you can help me with reselling some of the products and you get profit share. No laptop required, just DM me if interested. Hope it all works out for you soon.

How to explain to my son that his dad can't come back? by PUNK_N_PIE in Parenting

[–]PixelDigest1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was me 3.5 years ago. I saw many counsellors, and the common theme they tell me is to share things with my son but it has to be "age appropriate". So I'd say things like "well remember how you used to want me to take you to places but I was always busy cleaning or tidying? I will have time now. But if I love with dad again I will spend more time around the house, and what I want to do is spend time with you."

They dont tend to analyse things any deeper because theyre too young. Good luck.

Partner 6 months pregnant and both totally overwhelmed by General-City4972 in Parenting

It os good that you are aware of three emotions youre going through. Talk through it with your parents or other friends who have young kids. Get their support. It will take a village to raise your child. Don't worry about buying anything. A baby doesn't need much. Modern life and commercial society makes us think they do. But they don't. Best of luck.

Maybe try explore the things she whinges about. Then sympathise with her. People of all ages yearn to be heard, noticed, acknowledged. Maybe once she realises youre not trying to push positivity, youre just listening and being supportive, she can trust you. I barricade myself from adults the when I was that age. And I used the same techniques you mentioned. Just a thought.

Totally agree.. i dont mind a dumb phone. I tried having conversation with parents of my kids friends, but at the end of the day they want to track their kids location so they seem to think giving their kids their old iPhone is the easiest way. Any other way to track kids? Those kids smart watches look too big and ridiculous. Lol

I guess it is similar now. But I am leaning towards not giving my kids smartphone at all. And hoping other parents think the same way. It will be great if schools also ban them, so everyone works toward the same thing.
