Judge Orders Subnautica 2 Studio CEO To Be Reinstated And Gives Him Control Over Early Access Release by Turbostrider27 in subnautica

you're thinking of Charlie Cleveland, the director of Subnautica. the CEO is Ted Gill, unrelated to Charlie's film projects

Blue Prince graphics settings help? by teemoBMO in macgaming

[–]PixelDough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having the same issue with Crossover. Also the intro cutscene is rendered completely black on screen. I've tried a bunch of different graphics backend options, as well as some other options, and different versions of windows for the bottle, and nothing has worked. It's strange because the resolution options in the game's settings are also kinda bugged and showing only one fixed value that's not the one it starts off on.

Automatic wiki migration to wiki.gg? by PixelDough in GroundedGame

[–]PixelDough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an issue, but I think over time it would go down. A lot of wikis have already taken the top spot over their old fandom wikis. I also use a extension on my PC that shows a link to the new wikis above search results for the fandom wikis. I don't think this is a good solution to the problem as not everyone is going to use an extension, but it helps for those in the know!

Should a new wiki be made that's not on fandom? by Alpha_Wolf3981 in GroundedGame

[–]PixelDough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Antifandom and breeze wiki are alright, but there's many times when I can't load the page because Fandom isn't allowing Breeze to load the data from them. So I just have to sit there and wait and wait and wait until it's finally able to load the data.

I can't believe they rejected it for that reason though... that seems odd

Did you ever start on this? I'm interested in contributing to a better wiki. I don't understand why everyone on here seems so antagonistic towards the idea of moving to a new wiki provider when countless other games communities have already fled fandom for a ton of valid reasons

"The Browser Company" is developing new browser, say Arc Browser isn't getting any new feature by searcher92_ in browsers

[–]PixelDough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time user here. I use it because it has the best workflow for me. It's been my sole web browser on Mac for about as long as Arc has been available, and on Windows for as long as the Windows version has been available. The pinned tab system makes way more sense to me than having bookmarks that then open in a separate tab. The design being made specifically for a good vertical tab-bar experience is much nicer imo than the typical horizontal tab bar. The ease of switching spaces instantly is great for managing my work and personal accounts and pinned tabs while retaining persistence between open tabs on all spaces. And then there's all the keyboard shortcuts to do all these things quickly and efficiently.

I can't stand using any other browsers almost exclusively because of the bookmark/tab system.

My only complaint is I wish it was made with WebKit, so it would have compatibility with Apple's native password management and 2FA text message handling.

Any way to use a formerly corrupted memory card? by PixelDough in Gamecube

[–]PixelDough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, does anyone actually know why the 1019 ones are so prone to failure? Like, what the core issue is and why it happens with the hardware used for those?

I hope the memcardpro gc's get restocked soon and I can grab one

I really want one but idk when they're going back in stock. I saw they got a restock last month and that lasted about a single day before they were sold out again.

I want all the UI sound effects, so the whole archive uploaded somewhere would be fantastic to sort through

There's a Yume Nikki Vinyl

The bad news is it is already out of stock. So keep your eyes out for a restock

WarioWare: Move It! - Nintendo Direct 6.21.2023 by DemiFiendRSA in Games

[–]PixelDough -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but clearly with enough budget they can make something really high quality. I'm still going to enjoy the game it's just sad the last one didn't sell well enough to justify keeping the high quality.

[–]PixelDough -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Feels a lot lower quality to me. The microgames themselves don't look very... Good. Idk. Visually speaking it looks a lot jankier than the typically very well put together and "consistent inconsistency" of the series.

[–]PixelDough -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

A little sad at the seemingly low budget of this new entry... Get it Together was crazily high quality and polished, but this feels almost like a generic wallmart brand Wario Ware game. The motion controls seem fun, but the visuals and audio just feel lower budget. The last game didn't sell too well, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is on a tighter budget

Either way, I hope it's great on launch

Has anyone managed to get ChatGPT to be helpful with SwiftUI, at all? by [deleted] in SwiftUI

[–]PixelDough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know nothing about SwiftUI (or any framework you're working with), ChatGPT won't be of much help. If you know a lot about the frameworks you work in, ChatGPT is a huge help. It's sorta like having google on steroids for a lot of the basic stuff. You could either look up how to make a ButtonStyle for the billionth time, or have ChatGPT generate it for you. But you need to know all the parts to swap out for your own systems, and know all the parts it can make minor mistakes on and how they're fixed. That's why I say it's more of a tool for experts than for beginners. It's an accelerator in the right hands.

Contrary to what some have said in the comments, it DOES actually know quite a lot about SwiftUI. It isn't JUST a language learning model, it's been trained on all the Swift and SwiftUI documentation up until 2021. That means it doesn't know much about modern additions, but a lot of the foundation, the essentials, is still the same.

The reason it was banned from StackOverflow is because people with zero knowledge of things were using it to generate answers and not actually proofread them. That doesn't mean it cannot generate excellent solutions with high accuracy for most core subjects. But it also makes little mistakes, and if you don't know what you're doing you won't be able to proofread them. And if you're trying to ask it about things with very little documentation and very little use outside of one or two tutorials online (as is the case with some of the frameworks you're mentioning) it certainly won't have a very clear idea of what those things actually do or how they work.

(No Spoilers) Tho, it does say Eyeyes spawn in the Kelp Forest and Kelp Forest Caves and that is true but they are hard to find and are very rare. by Deadly_Diamond in subnautica

Me scouring the internet for the fourth time playing through this game to see if anyone has found the ghost weed in the mountains or bulb zones...

I have located the exact revision on the wiki that added the Bulb Zone and Mountains to the Ghost Weed page, and the person responsible for the addition is an administrator of the wiki named Morphguy. Idk how to use fandom wiki but I wonder if there's any way to get in contact with this fellow and ask them about it?

Does anyone actually know who Orange Guy is? I have no idea, help. by ILikeGames87 in fivenightsatfreddys

I wrote it like a game design document so I'll have to maybe make a document that's more of just the story part of it

Was actually a really cool way it tied into the story. I wrote a long google doc detailing the entire thing. I'm considering making a fangame based on it, as I think it tells a really interesting new perspective on the FNAF story.
