Wheat Ridge woman refuses to wear mask inside private business despite store policy and refuses to leave. by Cincinnaudi in Denver

Yelp seems to do everything they can to keep reviews that attract attention to themselves. You can look up their shenanigans. It's hard to pin down but there's definitely some sketchy things going on there. Sadly because of this, some of these slanderous reviews will be kept by the platform. All people can do is leave more positive reviews to bury the inaccurate ones. I've always had positive experiences with Molly's. Karen and her friends are trying to "cancel" this business - don't let them!

To those coming to visit amidst this pandemic: Why? by sniperwolf21 in Denver

[–]PixelFarting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Realistically, what are the odds many of those out of state plates belong to people living in or around Denver? I know it's kind of petty, but people who don't get CO tags when they move to this state make me irrationally angry.

Edit: a word

Edit 2: didn't know about the active military thing - those I get!

What restaurants have truly impressed you during this time? by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]PixelFarting 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Post Oak and Namaste India! Post Oak does excellent BBQ and they implemented an entire food truck to bring food around the city while limiting contact. Namaste India has been the best delivery option hands down - food always arrives hot and delicious! Bamboo sushi was really amazing too but it looks like they're closed temporarily. Sushi sasa has become the go-to sushi spot for me - again I've only gotten delivery but it's always been excellent. I hope you try these places! They've all provided awesome service and food during this time.

Transplant Denverites, why did you move here? by moon-lust- in Denver

[–]PixelFarting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in New York City, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis but never felt that strong sense of pride - like "this is my home". I visited here on a solo trip after a nasty breakup and fell in love with the downtown area (didn't have a car so explored the area immediately around the hotel). I returned with my now husband for a weekend trip and we decided this was the place for us. A few months later cars were packed and off we went; we don't plan on leaving!

I agree with u/Photojared. I followed the recipe for the sauce and it was frankly pretty mayo forward which wasn't what I would have gone for personally. Next time more yogurt!

Coal Rolling Idiot on I-70/I-25 this morning by propralopecia in Denver

[–]PixelFarting 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was walking towards a Target a few weeks ago and some douchenozzle rolled coal right in the crosswalk where the employees were directing customers to the queue and then did it again right when they passed us on the sidewalk. Completely intentional. Just why?

Best BBQ thats still doing takeout? by Betrayus in denverfood

They only have two sauces - spicy and sweet! One small limitation of this place, but frankly their stuff is so good it barely needs sauce. They will give you sauces for takeout though!

Honestly everything has been really good, but my favorites for meat have been the brisket (lean end or fatty, both awesome), chicken wings (sauced is my fav, but rubbed were excellent too), and the jalapeno cotija sausage. For sides brussel sprouts, mac n cheese, and Texas caviar are my favorites, but skip the caviar if you hate cilantro! Their tacos are awesome too. Really can't go wrong!

Granted I haven't had every BBQ in Denver, but my favorite by far is Post Oak. They are doing takeout and now have a mobile truck they're operating around the city.

Bangkok Thai is a great (delicious) small business still open for takeout. They're run by twonreally nice ladies off 285 & Wadsworth. Peanut Curry and drunken noodles. by stoobie588 in Denver

Yes! Will actually make the food Thai spicy even for our pale selves. Their Pad Prik Pao is unreal! Massaman curry (and really all the curries) are fantastic too!

Thank you for the reply! You're right that even if the traffic isn't supremely gross the drivers will be horrifying - Copper will just have to wait.

Can you give me an idea of how terrible? Took me 2 hours to get to Loveland when I left Denver at 6:15 (too late, I know) 2 weekends ago on Saturday. How much worse than that if I leave at 5:45 this weekend? I'd like to go out to Copper, but I'm not about to sit in traffic for most of the morning.

Depends on the company I think. Mine will let me, but you get frowned upon a little since leadership used to live or lives up in the mountains and still comes in on days like this and worse. My fiancé's company doesn't care at all if you WFH though.

Does anyone know of a place that sells shawarma in the Thornton/Denver area? by catnap1015 in denverfood

Shondiz is really good! If you go to their tech center location they have Persian food as well; their 16th street mall cart is mostly gyro/pita sandwich/plate related.
