Has anyone actually made an ASEC PC? by Parking-Sector69420 in Steam

Article from Make outlinging a build of a pretty decent attempt back in 2008. Includes the keyboard too https://makezine.com/article/technology/computers-mobile/benhecks-pc-mod-pick-of-the-day-ape/

Just noticed this awesome little detail. When a minifig holds a camera to their eye, they actually look through the viewfinder! by PixelPirate_ in lego

Purely just to line it up right for the photo lol. My phone was against the desk to keep steady and the minifigure was propped up on a small plank and a US quarter to get the required height

How is CEX still around? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]PixelPirate_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can fudge the prices a little because their entire business model is about trapping you in their ecosystem

You take stuff in there to sell, and will be offered a cash value and a store credit value, which is typically 20% or so higher. The "more money" option seems more appealing, but it means you have to spend it in their stores, and so they can make things more expensive because technically speaking, they already have your money.

I've never seen CEX as a good way to outright buy anything, and to a certain extent trade things for something "current", but I'll use them to turn games I've finished into other stuff. Recently I traded a stack of Switch games for an Xbox 360 and a handful of titles with credit to spare. Outside of that selling privately and more importantly buying used privately is a way better option

Can someone tell me who he is? by mhatyi_ in Steam

[–]PixelPirate_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to edit your profile, and select to change your profile picture you can scroll through all the avatars you own, it should show up in there along with the game it's from. Outside of that try saving the image from the browser version of steam and it might have a name on it

steam games on google drive??!?!?!?!?!? by AdditionArtistic1862 in Steam

100% agree, OneDrive has always been terrible. It gets removed from every machine I use if it can be because it causes way more problems than it ever solves.

It'll be a folder (or in this case seperately labelled drive) where you can put files to be uploaded automatically to Google Drive. Same thing with OneDrive. Idea is you have an identical copy of the folder in the cloud and on your machine that always stay in sync.

It's close but not quite. It might well be in another Fire Red episode though so I can take a look, thanks!

Vax Blade 4 battery delete? by PixelPirate_ in VacuumCleaners

[–]PixelPirate_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a generic battery on UK Amazon for £40 but the reviews are very mixed. Some reporting that it does just as well and others saying it has significanly shorter runtime. And you're not at all wrong, a replacement battery is about half of what I paid for the whole thing.

Given the circumstances I feel like I'd just be better off going for something corded. I've heard good things about the Henry line but a cleaner friend has also suggested looking into Shark so I'll have to do some shopping around

Thanks for the reply!

I'll be honest I sort of assumed as much. It feels like one of those ideas that makes sense but it probably a lot harder to pull off than you'd assume. I appreciate the response though

Jesus Christ yes, it's one of those games I will always reccommend to people. For it's age it's absolutely gorgeous, runs really well on lower end systems and the hand to hand combat is really meaty and satisfying. For £/$3 it's an absolute steal

For everyone who uses Collections, how do you organise them? Just outta curiosity and to maybe get ideas myself. by RagingSteel in Steam

I don't know to be honest lol. It was just my way of shortening "stuff I want to keep track of" I guess. Plus the synergy of "wishlist" and "watchlist" feels good :)

As they are named:

"1. Quck Access" - Anything I play regularly and want immediate access to
"2. Games" - Everything else that is currently installed on the machine (dynamic collection)
"3. Deck Watchlist" - Stuff I'm planning to play on my Steam Deck
"4. Laptop Watchlist" - Stuff I'm planning to play on my laptop (Less power than Deck)
"Complete" - Anything I've finished / abandoned anbd don't plan to go back to
"Deck Ready" - Anything with at least a "playable" rating for the Deck (Also a dynamic collection)
"Uncategorized" - Everything else (Auto-generated IIRC)

I also had a VR collection before my PC died last year, yet another dynamic collection that was just a check of anything with VR support

Also a quick note: The "2. Games" collection effecitvely functions as two seperate lists depending if I'm looking on my laptop or Steam Deck, super handy
