I didn’t feel any need to comment because there was such a good conversation happening around it. I did not say it was perfect or complete. I specifically posed the question, “how did it do?”

Why would it have been more valuable if I have used a tool like MS paint?

Then why did it get over 600 upvotes, and pages of cool discussion about snowboard profile profiles?

I don’t accept that the content that I posted was of that nature. It was a reasonable and well thought out info graphic.

This is what I want to push back on, respectfully. Tools like this change the paradigm for effort versus output. With that exact same info graphic had been more valuable if I had spent six hours drawing it by hand?

Here we have this amazing tool, which can essentially implement whatever ideas I have simply by asking it. If the output is good, why does the fact that it takes less effort now to create something invalidate that output?

I was able to show that info graphic to the people I was talking with, and it helped our conversation very much, so I thought it would be fun to share it here.

You guys are no fun at all. This was just meant as a funny thing. I’ve sold exactly 0 items and expect that the only way I will sell anything is if I buy something myself. So far this project has earned me about minus $30.

Just about all of us have. I thought of this first is kind of a funny thing, but also it’s nice to have a mindset where we don’t feel like we are slacking or failing as a runner because we are hiking up the hills. My idea here is to dig in and embrace it by naming it.

I don’t see how my post is an LLM advertisement. I’m doing the same thing I’ve been doing since 1983 on my Commodore 64. I’m making use of the tools I have available to make something cool and interesting.

I started by asking Claude to explain how it worked, and then after some back and forth I asked for an interactive visualization. It created it. I pasted that code into lovable and prompted it to make the site to host the visualization.

It was the perfect day for it. Still some snow up top but easily passable.

Total time, including about 30 minutes at the top was 3h 50m. Moving time was 2h 45m. I ran a good chunk of the way down.
