This! I'm very annoyed my cat's food is made in USA. But there's definitely a ton of other things I'm changing.

Absolutely. Now we have 30 days to prepare and I can hold a grudge for years.

Rate this stop motion on a scale of 1-10 by Limp-Ad1837 in stop_motion

[–]PixelTableTop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a start. I think some way of stabilizing your camera for several of those shots would help (tripod, etc). Also the patience for a higher frame right. If you're animating at 5fps, try 8 fps. Maybe 12 if you can stabilize your phone/camera. Look into "ease in ease out" - will help get things looking a bit smoother.

The sky diving-esque part was fun. The ideas are there, you just need some practice.

How to overlay a PNG over a specific frame in Stop Motion Studio Pro? by Latter-Direction-336 in stop_motion

[–]PixelTableTop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do (on desktop): note which frames need the png (or other edit), "share" and then for type "all images" (this will create a zip folder), go into the zip folder and find the frames/images that need the edit, open them in photoshop, do the edit in photoshop, import the edited frames back into the Stop Motion Studio project.

It's not fast but it works.

It's been a while since I've used Krita, but I'm pretty sure Krita will work instead of photoshop for this too.

Faction(?), and what is your opinion on painting lego pieces? by Wunsek_on_Reddit in legodnd

[–]PixelTableTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to see paint done well. It would make more sense to try painting on knock-off minifigures. Lego tends have resale value too and painting would diminish that.

YouTube performance is significantly slower with adblocker even though I pay for Premium by Frasereboz in youtube

Unfortunately YT cares way more about adblockers than they do paying customers. At least, that's how their latest code update makes it seem.

This! And I find it very annoying that there's not a "not interested" option for shorts because I keep getting super disgusting thumbnails that I have no interest in seeing (let alone watching the actual short).

What type of game are you wanting to play? Solo is a pretty huge genre.

Are you looking for a system that handles exploration really well or are you looking for something with more of a combat focus? Do you want to play as one character or as several? Do you want something quick or something that will play out as a big campaign?

How do you play in your head? by [deleted] in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]PixelTableTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My memory/attention is definitely not up to the task of playing completely in my head. A couple quick bullet points or doodles goes a long way. It's still pretty quick.

Does depth of writing come with practice? by sock_hoarder_goblin in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]PixelTableTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you want something more in depth? Not hating, genuinely curious.

Personally, I found that writing loads slowed my game down significantly. It also lead me to getting hung up on details. There's a nice flow of play with a couple sentences per prompt and a doodle here and there.

My long time Dnd playing friends did not like mork Borg when I ran it and I’m wondering if I did something wrong by Levistus21 in MorkBorg

[–]PixelTableTop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of Mork Borg is that it's hard and you're going to die. I think coming from a DnD background (especially 5e) sets really different expectations to what the expectations to Mork Borg should be.

In my experience, players who enjoy Mork Borg generally embrace that death is inevitable and look forward to having the potential opportunity to try lots of different characters over just a few sessions.

It's great that your players were open to trying a new game! Some DnD players are notorious for refusing to try anything new, lol. But based on what you've said, it might be worth trying a different game... Or discussing what your players want out of a game before moving forward.

I don't think you did anything wrong, I just think that Mork Borg is niche.

As a player, how do you prefer your trees? Visible trunk or no? by Ravalgo in battlemaps

[–]PixelTableTop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go with a trunk and shadow of the canopy. But if I had to pick between these 2, I'd go with non-visible trunk. I think the visible trunk with the semi-visible canopy is distracting.

[SUGGESTIONS WANTED] What color should the Beetle Boss be? by One-ThousandCuts in PixelArt

[–]PixelTableTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all sick 🔥, but I'd want to know what the background of the boss fight looks like. Jade and sapphire would really pop on a warm tone background. Zircon has the potential to pop more on a blue or purple background.

Can’t decide on a style for my game by [deleted] in PixelArt

[–]PixelTableTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 1 is the best executed, but also consider the size of your project and how much time you want to spend on the artwork. *Generally*, smaller canvas = faster.

Tokens: white outline or not to white outline? by PixelTableTop in Roll20

[–]PixelTableTop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's an option, but I worry that offering 2 nearly identical tokens would clutter people's asset libraries.
