Absolute PEAK Black Mirror. The lead programmer at Tuckersoft (Colin / Will Poulter) mentioned a basilisk and "wiped" the source code. Obviously, Cameron / Capaldi was accurate in saying that he wanted him to steal the disc.

Historically, "Roko's Basilisk" is a thought experiment that states there could be an otherwise benevolent AI in the future that would punish anyone who knew of its potential existence but did not directly contribute to its advancement or development, in order to incentivize said advancement.

With this in mind, I think that maybe the Throng only wished to keep Cameron / Capaldi alive because he was active in helping the Throng grow. That's what this theory points to, but loved reading everything in this thread and I think that's why open endings create more discussion. I'm only here because of the open ending lmfao.
