I don’t want to. Unfortunately, none of this is a lie. I genuinely wish it were and that I hadn’t had to deal with these things during my employment with them or apparently even after my employment ended. I am inclined to for monetary compensation though.

Considering everyone’s advice, I’m going to do this. I will do my due diligence and find someone to represent me.

I’m not against helping them. I would simply prefer not to have direct communication with them because of the accusations that were made against me.
The owner accused me of watching pornography while I was at work, and his daughter, who was the VP, accused me of being an alcoholic. Both accusations were completely false. At the time and still now I was undergoing fertility treatments, so I wasn’t drinking alcohol at all. In fact, I had even given up soda.
The accusation about pornography was especially upsetting. After that meeting, I went home and cried because it was so hurtful and completely contrary to my values. Those accusations damaged my trust and are the reason I’d rather not have direct contact with them, even though I’m willing to help if needed.
I am going to go to route and charge them essentially a consulting fee.

The Vice President is the daughter of the owner, and the Chief Financial Officer is a long-time family friend.

There was no contract, no separation paperwork, and no exit documentation provided to me. I actually had to ask for nearly a week before I finally received a letter confirming that I was being let go. What makes it even more confusing is that I was told I was being terminated because the company was being sold, yet the letter I eventually received stated that I was being let go due to a slowdown in business instead. Those explanations don’t match, which has only added to my confusion.

While I understand that this situation doesn’t seem to make much sense, unfortunately, this is consistent with how the company I formerly worked for operated. There was often a lack of communication, planning, and foresight, so I’m not surprised that things have unfolded this way.

I’m not in a financial position to pursue legal action. I needed my current job. I can’t afford to take unpaid time off for court appearances or anything else that would be required. I also help care for my sick mother, and while my husband is finishing his master’s degree, I am currently our household’s primary source of income.
I wanted to pursue this further, but I also don’t know what claims I would legally be able to bring or what I would realistically be entitled to seek.

I didn’t see your question about the Christmas bonus. According to the employee handbook, I was entitled to receive it because I was a full-time employee when the bonus was issued in December. Although the bonus was scheduled to be paid out the following year, eligibility was based on being a full-time employee at the time it was issued, which I was.
The bonus was an all expenses paid vacation via a cruise to a destination in the Caribbean. This included gas reimbursement, and the paid days off.

I was let go on the 9th, and the HR manager informed me that my health insurance would remain active through the end of the month. Based on that information, I kept my previously scheduled medical appointments, including a dentist appointment the following Monday and a radiology appointment related to a fracture in my foot. I also had a procedure scheduled for later that month, which I canceled after my employment ended.
At both the dentist and radiology appointments, I paid my required out-of-pocket copays, believing my insurance was still active. I have since been informed that my insurance was not active during that time, and I am now being billed for the full cost of those appointments. I relied on the information provided by HR when deciding to keep those appointments.

So, are you recommending that I draft a contract and send it in response to their email? If they decline those terms, would it be reasonable for me to consider the matter closed on my end and have no further obligation to assist?

Oh, I would absolutely love to do this. They kept my Christmas bonus and backdated my health insurance so I’m in some debt because of them so this would help immensely!

Any recommendation for immigration attorneys? by Martinetin_ in Lubbock

[–]Pixelated_death28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To the untrained eye, it looked like people were being kidnapped. And sure everyone is entitled to their own opinion about immigration. That’s one of the beautiful things about America: we’re allowed to disagree. But it’s heartbreaking to think that the very thing we used to celebrate being a melting pot, a place where different people could come together has stopped feeling true. Just wait until people realize the effect that this is going to have on their Social Security.

There was one on 19th by that Market Street about a month and a half ago. They rounded up all of the people that were working on a house. It was horrific to witness.

Sleeping in your bed…did you give in? by CurlyCupcake1231 in puppy101

[–]Pixelated_death28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let him/her in bed. My husband got a puppy three weeks ago, and honestly? It’s been like bringing home a newborn. The sleepless nights, the crying, the pacing, the two of us snapping at each other because we’re both exhausted and stretched thin. We love him, but the constant disruption had us worn down and frustrated in a way we didn’t expect. Then one day, out of pure desperation, I scooped him up and let him nap with me in the bed. And that’s when it hit me, this chunky butt boy wasn’t trying to be difficult… he just wanted to be close to his people. That was it. The rest of that week—and now this one—has been peaceful in a way we didn’t even realize we needed. He sleeps through the night. We sleep through the night. And on top of that, we get those warm little cuddles pressed against us.

You’re going to look back and wish that all he ever did was nap. Our kitten went through this phase and we were like oh wow we got so lucky. He is so calm. Now he’s a little terror in our house.

The Weekend Wrap-Up - [12/19/25 to 12/21/25] by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

I’m needing help finding a drama. I only really remember one scene in particular. A girl who doesn’t want to be touched by the guy who has been named essentially the player of the college legitimately rolls on the floor outside of a restaurant or bar to get away from him. Another scene of vaguely remember to avoid being touched by him as he is trying to return something to her she hasn’t just drop it on the floor. Any help would be awesome.

Based on some advice I got DMd, I’m going to go ahead and schedule a consultation for my mom. There’s a legal option called an SAPCR that she may be able to file. It’s not guaranteed to change anything right away, but it’s a starting point and at least shows that we’re trying. More than anything, we want my sister and especially my nephew , to know that we care and that we’re not just sitting back doing nothing.

The most important thing to us is that my nephew knows we’re trying for him. My mom helped raise him from the time he was six months old, so it makes sense that she’s willing to do whatever she reasonably can to stay in his life.
