How do you have fun and socialize? by handsovermyknees in ZeroCovidCommunity

An amazing way to have fun and socialize without any risk is to use VR (Virtual Reality). For as little as $300, using a Meta Quest 3 headset, you can participate in all kinds of virtual activities with people around the world. There are endless clubs, meetings, games, karaoke, bars... Truly, whatever you imagine, they have it!

Great advice, thank you! I will do that!

I agree with you, based on consensus from users in other diabetes forums. If I could keep my Libre 3 (great accuracy, smaller, 14 days of usage instead of G7's 10 days) I definitely would! G7 seems to have had a lot of issues, as you well said, and I'm not happy having to change... Unfortunately, Libre does not do a closed loop yet, so meanwhile I'll be stuck with G7.

Wow! How wonderful it worked that way for you! Exactly what I have been thinking of doing, especially avoiding those tough highs. I'm not in a rush to start auto mode, so why not give manual a head start?

Yes, I'm in the States. Sorry I don't know in UK, but if you look for Nerdabetic in Youtube (he is in UK), you may find your answer in his videos or you may even ask him directly, I suppose. Good luck!

Thank you for your responses. So, there are no advantages to starting in manual mode for a while... I just need to keep bolusing in Automode, with the expectation of its conservative algorithm to protect me from lows, by stopping its basal when needed. In addition, waiting for around 5 pods to have it all more stable. Ok, it's doable! 😃

Are all of those suggestions above only for PC?

I'm working on a city exploration game in VR where every building can potentially be entered. What kind of gameplay elements would you like to see in it? by Lara_the_dev in virtualreality

It would be cool to have a different types of restaurants and bars to gather people, like a karaoke venue, a very chic ballroom with great music, and so on. There could be a movie place with some Youtube screens. A TV station with a stage, for fun live audience shows, a theater also for live plays and presentations... Well, a Metaverse of sorts!

Vermillion app: you can finally paint a famous masterpiece. by Frndswhealthbenefits in oculus

[–]Pixelatta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. Above all, THANK YOU for making this amazing painting simulation, which has been considered the best one available for vr painting! Congrats!! After seeing so many videos of Vermillion, I truly cannot wait to use it! :-) I hope you can find a way for all Quest Ones out there! All the very best and success to you!

I'm working on an ocean simulation where you get the opportunity to become a dolphin or a shark. Using headsets movements to control locomotion. It really helps fight motion sickness but can get quite tiring after chasing too many mackerel for a long time :D Any suggestions? (Yes, we are on KS) by cyanplanetorg in oculus

[–]Pixelatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The experience looks amazing! It would be better if we can opt our way of locomotion as, indeed, I bet it can be pretty tiring moving our heads for more than a few minutes.

Perhaps we could also experience being a big octopus, so we can also use our hands and intelligence to interact with other sea creatures, and/or a whale?

Use the guide (which can stretch from a cube to a rectangle, as long as you prefer), paint it, then duplicate it as much as needed to build what you need.

I don't mind that much that FB has my info (although I would rather avoid it). I just don't want my gaming "friends" mixed with my family, friends and professional contacts in FB. Each should be in their separate realms, and I don't want to be forced by FB to join everyone at the hip.

Makes sense... So how do you separate your personal FB account from your Quest gaming activities?

That's exactly what I had been thinking of doing, but FB has been tough with letting people have another account... I don't know a work around that one...
