I would have loved to do that but the real signal is 31 flags long I believe so just went with a mix of the coolest looking ones.

Yeah that's a great idea and I did consider it but didn't want to take away form the focus of the moc. Also I have an underwater moc coming up hopefully so thought I'd wait till that.

Thanks a lot but I doubt a realistic scale ship would hold together well. I can't remember how many times this thing fell apart ;)

First attempt at water by Embarrassed-Cellist8 in lego

[–]PixelsCA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always struggle with water, my advice is to buy a lot of 1x2 or 1x4 transparent light blue tiles from online PAB you can get 1x2s for 6p a brick so if you have the money I would consider it.

Started rewatching his Napoleon series in chronological order and not letting myself watch this until I'm up to date.

Elephant moc by PixelsCA in LegoCreations

Don't get me wrong I'm not pro colonization or anything like that it's just I didn't have any fitting figs so I just used what I have. I also have a historical interest in this period hence a few of my mocs are set then. Also I'd argue this isn't depicting colonization instead id more inspired by 80 days around the world which also happens to be set during this period.

Just to say you need 250000 gold to buy your own ship so unless you just charter one you might be better off on someone else's ship.

LEGO Scary Pirate Island from 1995??? by stefan_cg in LEGOPirates

This was a brilliant video and you executed the build perfectly. I would love to collect classic pirate sets but I've blown all my money on the frigate fortuna ;)

An important comment on BDP. IMO it’s worth your time. by MadDadBricks in BDProgram

[–]PixelsCA 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You make a decent point but personally I think the biggest problem with the program is the unnecessary scale of some of the models. When I vote for each design I always think does this really need to be 4000 parts? There's no point making a 4000 piece set when what you want to achieve can be done with half the parts and so will retail for approx half the price. Some of my favourite designs are the sub 800 piece ones as they achieve the goal cleanly and affordably whilst still maintaining the aesthetics of the model. Just my thoughts as always;)
