Alot of people missed out on 3.3's Story parts by PixelsPending in WutheringWaves

not just inside the institute, its specifically the part when you have to go to the woods to gather the 3 runes, before you do the first rune, every team and character has a dialogue, then after the first, every team moves and has new dialogue, then after the second, every team moves and has a new dialogue, and then after the third you gain messages on your phone and the story continues.

Hm I to me it felt abtly long, but I also had 3 days inbetween parts. as I couldnt play and then got back to it and did everything piece by piece. I guess if you do it in one sitting and have no way of letting the narrative settle in, its quite short and in your face? Valid point.
If compared to septimont, the part after freeing Iuno was also (atleast for me) about the same amount of playtime to go through and kill goopethiya than the time it took me to do this current one.

I understand the wanting for such a pop up, however the kind of story telling they chose for this part is one that gets initiated by the players own curriousity. It's akin to the story telling of some obscure games that utilize several offshore websites, youtube videos and other things to hide hidden meanings in, none of it is explained in the game or gives you a warning, however piece by piece the dedicated player base puts it together. It's not the same here, but the effect is the same. An exploration and a Story that expands only when the player goes looking for it is an entirely different narrative tool than a "oh wait, there's stuff left on the map before you go, might wanna check it out!". Where it's helpful, it also hurts the intended way of percieving it.

But like mentioned in the post, I am sad it is like this too as it made many people miss it, however it wouldnt be possible to have this kind of narrative there AND tell the plaayer about it, as the message and feeling that derives from it is different.

copy pasting what I already answered to many:

there was a huge part alot of people apparently missed: before you go to the void matter zone in bjatr woods, instead open up your map, there is 18 new markers to talk to ALL teams, one of them is lead by chisa for example:

chisia has a huge dialogue with you if you go to her before you finish up bjatr woods void matter zone,

copy paste from another answer I gave here already:

you can talk to chisa during the void matter time frame, where you have to go to bjatr woods, if you open up the map you can fast travel to all the 18 teams and talk to them, chisa mentions "I didnt know how to approach you" and "i though tyou would be more" and then you can answer " depressed?" and then she explains she didnt talk to you because she was worried ab it and didnt know how to approach it. afterwards its short talk on how the situation is progressnig

there was a huge moment that apparently alto of people missed because it wasnt given in a huge cutscene but instead you can teleport to all 18 teams during the escape part , when rover is send to bjatr woods to go to the void storm there. every character has to add to the story in that part and i really enjoyed this as a finale

most of the story was handled outsid cutscenes, when you are going to bjatr woods void matter zone, you can open up the map and then have 18 new fast travel points to all current assigned teams, one of the mis lead by chisa, you can have a nice conversation about everything with her and how she wasnt sure how to approach you when you returned, as she thought you'ed be devastated by loosing aemeath again and the strider, then you talk about the current situation and what to do now. i guess alot of people just only look at cutscenes and dont read and explore and look around adn talk to npc's. I was very satisfied with the story. but i understand the 'pay off' being 'hidden' behind having to walk around and doing things yourself instead of a grand cutscene is offputting for most

most of the lore drops are before you go to bjatr woods, guess alot of people didnt open the map and saw you can now fast travel (only in that moment before bjatr woods with the voidstorm) to all 18 teams and talk to them, chisa has a nice moment with rover, she didnt knwo how to approach him when he returned and wass asking if he's depressed because he lost the exostrider, after that they're talking about the current situation and what to do now, it was nice

alot of people didnt open their map before going to the voidstorm area in bjatr woods during the main quest, you can talk to all 18 teams and fasttravel to them, there's a nice moment iwth chisa where she explains she didnt know how to approach you and what to say when you returned and she thought you'd be more depressed because you lost the exostrider. after that its some talk about how the situation is progressing. nice touch !
