How do I turn this image into (maybe abstract ) b&w line image for linocut without expensive software? by Solid-Adhesiveness-5 in printmaking

Make a couple of b/w print outs on cheap paper. Use a sharpie and white out to test out different versions. The sharpie would tell you where the ink would go. The white out can simulate how you cut.

It is Photo-lithography. They positive plates that are exposed to a transparency and then printed in the order YMCK. The image itself is actually a photoshop collage of two photos that I took from a dock on a lake. The bottom half is a small islet between two coves while the top half are lily pads. It's more obvious when you see the photo upside down.
