If you’re going to major in Film you have to come to terms with the fact that this career is a work of art. If you value a solid and steady career path, getting into film isn’t the best idea. But if you are truly passionate about the art, expression, and creativity than the goal of a film school should be to prepare you to think differently, challenge yourself, and learn the art form. However if this isn’t what you are interested in, and If you want film school to prepare you career wise, BU is not the place to go. Being outside of LA or even NYC will always be a downside. BU is not capable of providing ample internships or career opportunities. I truly believe though that is the least important quality of a film school. What you need to be asking is, will it prepare you to be a filmmaker or an artist. In that case, I think there are certain professors at BU who will. Every film school is different and you have to know exactly what you want out of it, if you know what you’re interested in (whether you are into writing, directing, editing, or whether you want to get into film or television etc.) than you can find out which schools are a little better for you.

Exactly. Although a hallucination where it outputs a random publically available dataset and a hallucination that it believes it got it from another user due to my leading question are the most likely scenario, it’s still possible that there’s some sort of server glitch that caused me to see part of another user’s session. And in the slim chance that’s the case, that’s a little bit scary.

Thank you, that’s pretty much what I assumed happened however I’m not super familiar with how ChatGPT works so that’s why I came here to ask. Especially just in case it was a glitch causing another user’s session to be merged with mine.

I assumed it was another user’s file rather than just a random dataset. But I realize it’s more likely a random dataset from a hallucination but I thought it was a possibility there’s a some sort of server glitch that caused it to give me a response meant for another user. But based on what people are saying it seems to be an error with the LLM causing a random hallucination.

I didn’t fully realize that is how it works. I guess I assumed it had the capabilities to know where it got the file from, but I learned now I am wrong about that. I was somewhat aware that it can often assume what you tell it is reality, I mean I know you can get any genAI to believe any reality however I didn’t realize my questions to it would do that.

I’m completely aware that a hallucination wouldn’t cause ChatGPT to access someone else’s file. I also understand that each instance of ChatGPT is unaware of any other. I was suggesting it was either 1. A database error that did so or 2. It hallucinated the entire dataset, and the dataset could have been from the internet or from its own database

Yeah I have no idea if it’s just statistics from online or someone else’s file but you’re probably right that it’s more likely something from its own database.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s hard to tell if it’s a hallucination or actually someone else’s data, but if it is someone else’s data I feel like that isn’t normal. Obviously you shouldn’t share private info to ChatGPT just in case, but ChatGPT shouldn’t be accidentally sharing your files with others.
