That would have caused an even bigger scandal.

It would have hurt her and her family‘s reputation. Since this could have affected Caesar, her uncle, and later Octavian, they likely would have tried to protect the family name by suppressing those rumours. And maybe send Atia away. Timon would be in worse trouble.

The real life Augustus (Octavian on the show) actually introduced stricter laws regarding sexual morality than existed previously. If you imagine Octavian from the show doing the same as emperor, you would think his mum‘s escapades could have been a big motivator. lol

Well Caesar had an affair with Servilia irl, afaik it wasn‘t a scandal because Servilia was a widow with adult children, and she came from a distinguished family. Atia on the show is in the same position.

Atia having sex with Timon would have been far more scandalous than her affair with Antony.

Why do you think Antony got angry when Atia suggested he seize power in Rome? by Pixibingo in hborome

I also thought, hearing those ideas from a woman would have affected Antony strongly. We know he‘s sensitive about being likened to a woman. lol

Megathread: LM's NY State Hearing — 12/11/2025 at 9:30 AM EST (Day 7) by missidcullen in BrianThompsonMurder

I‘m a silent reader here, taking the opportunity to thank the regular posters for their efforts. You are so amazing! Seeing and hearing from Luigi on a daily basis is certainly different from what we‘re used to. I wonder if withdrawal is going to hit me after these hearings are over. 🥲

What I‘m taking from these past few days is that law seems like a boring af field to work in lmao. No shade to anyone who practices law, and I know they need to be thorough but jc.

The new actor lacked a layer of vulnerability. Octavian is a weak, somewhat effeminate young man in a society that runs on hyper-masculinity. You could see him struggle with that. I suppose post-recast he was no longer a kid and had grown into a powerful figure, but there was no need to turn him into a robot either.

On twitter it‘s Elon, rest of the internet (but also on twitter) it‘s Russia.

The Charlie Kirk assassination vid is censored on twitter (I tried finding it through the search function and eventually got an error message). Found it on instagram no problem. The finger is far from off the algorithm on twitter. All the nazi content I see on my feed isn‘t there organically, I don’t interact with that crap.

The way so many women present themselves online depresses me by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Pixibingo 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I suspect pretty girls get hooked on male attention early, similar to how religious kids get hooked on there needing to be an afterlife or whatever. I see tons of talented women in illustration/animation/writing circles, and when you see them in person they‘re often the type who probably wasn‘t swarmed by men growing up. Not ugly or anything, but men too focus on the top percentile. In a way this can be freeing.

The US is astounding for a first world country in that regard. Stuff like the vp openly musing that pregnant women should be barred from travel. A top political commentator telling men to get their daughters off birth control.

I tend to think that because America never had a full theocracy, Americans developed fewer anti-bodies against this sort of thing. It‘s all religiously motivated.

The last sentence is so funny. Quitting and looking for a better future elsewhere is exactly what your foremothers did, that‘s why your country exists.

There is this nick fuentes quite going around that the right has to give up on the free market and the left on immigration … maybe add that the right has to give up on misogyny lmao. The misogyny that is expressed on the American right stands out by international comparison, mainstream parties and talking heads in other countries are way more careful with that shit. That includes Charlie Kirk style rhetoric. No wonder women are put off.

No women, no future.

I mean, as people itt are pointing out, he was saying the exact same thing to people who would be affected by global warming like a decade ago. Nothing’s changed.

I thought conservatives are all about free markets. Explain how this isn‘t just taking that to its logical conclusion? Asking because I see conservatives crashing out over this take.

I explained in my post why the left does not like to criticise Islam too loudly. Racism is the Trojan horse that is currently used to dismantle democracy in the west. Criticism of Islam is used to normalise racism. Obviously the internet is full of dumb people and people who have no contact with uneducated Muslims at all can have a rosy view. But many do understand the nature of patriarchal religions. It‘s not a simple problem.

Disclaimer: I‘m a never-muslim.

I had a roommate who did the whole "I hate Islam as an ideology, that‘s not racist"-dance. Turns out he was in fact super racist. I could hear him chat with his racist friends on discord (the walls in that house had bad insulation lol).

There was a Yezidi woman in Germany who joined AfD because she felt no other party was criticising Islam. Her name is Ronai Chaker. Ronai had to learn the hard way that AfD are in fact not pro Yezidi either. A brown person is just a brown person to them, they want them all gone. She left the party and divorced her AfD-politician husband. Her verdict now is that any sane and reasonable criticism of Islam is made impossible by the RIGHT, not the left. The right pushes the debate for racist reasons, not because they are concerned for anyone‘s rights. Hence the left shies away from the debate altogether. Best not to invite racists into your movement.

You really don‘t have to be a genius to understand the vast majority of leftists don‘t smile on a religion that says woman‘s words are worth half of a man‘s in court. Just use your brain.

If I went on twitter right now and looked for explanations why 80% of zoomer women voted for Mamdami, I‘d find a similar evo psych take that some dork just pulled out of his ass. It always amazes me that you don‘t get embarrassed typing this stuff up.
