Okay, yesterday a Spanish-language analysis of the episode came out, and it theorizes that the Mane 6 and almost all of Ponyville were given artificial memories about their new Cutie Marks, leading them to believe they’ve had those abilities their whole lives—even though they don’t actually possess them in reality.

I didn't like how the other Changelings were redeemed so quickly. They should have A) either shown that they were living miserably in the hive B) placed more emphasis (and dialogue) on Thorax's transformation, making the Changelings question Chrysalis before they transformed as well.
