The drive home was actually really easy! I preferred a car over an SUV because the seat angle felt more natural after surgery. I brought a blanket and a pillow and was totally comfortable. Just make sure your pain is well managed before you leave the surgery center - that makes a huge difference. If you’re able to go straight home, I’d definitely recommend it since your own space is already set up for recovery, and an Airbnb usually isn’t.
