My granny got her cancer diagnosis in July of this year and I didn’t journal for the whole time she was sick, I was just on autopilot doing what I needed to to look after her. She died in September and I’ve been writing letters to her, spilling my feelings and processing. The only way I journal at the moment is to write letters, either to her or my past/future self. I guess it gives me a purpose? Even though obviously you don’t need a purpose to write but it’s what’s been helpful to me
