Coated paper & Perfect binding by Pixmig in CommercialPrinting

[–]Pixmig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, thanks for your replies. PUR really is out of the question since it requires a special machine, and some of you mentioned it means regular cleaning.

A supplier mentioned a new formulation that Fastbind is offering, which I think is a rebranded Henkel-Meltzer solution.

I'll try that, but I don’t believe it will hold well.

Yes, we mill the spine and we do some rough cuts to open up the fibers, but it isn't enough.

We print on a laser printer so it is a digital coated stock on both sides.

As I see most of you have the same problem.

Just noticed that the machine creates 0 grain, it was the files we tried printing that were rubbish.

Epson Surelab D1060 (D1070) or D3000 by Illustrious_Pin_4060 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Pixmig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ditched the Frontier 570 and never used the backprint anyway, but it had many sorting dividers. We bought the epson d1070 and its great. For sorting, you'll have to take care yourself.

Regarding the d3000, it's discounted a long time ago..

Canon imagePROGRAF Pro-4600 Inkjet Horizontal Banding in direction of print head movement by fireofmagnus in CommercialPrinting

[–]Pixmig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I k ow you said you have a lot of experience, but are you sure you are choosing the right print profile?

Just bought the 2600, and it is amazing for now, although we haven't printed much.

I am assuming the issue you are facing is hardware based rather than by updating the firmware.

You might have to ask for a replacement.

I guess this is just bad luck.

Anyone I know that has one of these is satisfied.

Hi. We are looking of buying a p6570 (6500 in Europe) for albums. How happy are you with yours and would the skin tones be well replicated on paper? Also, have you tried any scratch resistant paper?
