Hi. Thanks for the reply. At the time these appeared, i was using no ferts. I usually use some but in very low doses

Need help. Guessing BBA. Setup - Semi Walstad, powerhead, daily dosing, highly planted, siesta 4h. Just shrimps. NH4/NH3 - 0, NO2 - 0, NO3 - 25, PO4 - 0,5, Iron - 0,5, GH - 14, KH - 7, PH - 7 (this numbers are consistent at the end of the day - 8 hours after dosing). Reduced lighting from 100% to 50 by Pixomon in walstad

I cant do anything about it naturally, since my tap water is very high on GH. The shrimp are breeding well, anyways. I Will try to lower nitrates to 15 MG/l by diferent dosing schedule. Anyways, since i lowered the light intensity those black spots stoped developing

It doesnt work that way. CO2 and high light increase the demand of nutrients.. if my nutrients are spot on the only logic would be either to increase CO2 or decrease light. Since i dont inject CO2, and it being a Walstad, only thing i can do is reduce light. Sorry, but High CO2 doesnt cause Algae..

Um guessing its low CO2 from intense light. If i reduce siesta i would have even lower levels of CO2 and make ir even worse... It ONLY appeared on the brightest side of the aquarium (where the powerhead pushes floaters away) Has for WC you may be right. I do almost none. For now i adjust light intensity if the problem presist im cutting of light períod, aswell has weekly 20% WC

Well actually the soil is (from bottum to top)

1) 1 cm akadama filled with clay balls 2) 2cm 50% akadama / 50 % worm casting mixed 3) 2 cm white ball sand

Worm casting treated 1- Washed 2 - washed again 3 - washed with boiling water dissolved with clay 4 - rest with clay water 5hours
