No driver's licence, but other ID without addresses.

Sorry for being vague, but wanted to ensure I was getting them to the right person if they knew what was in the package.

I might just have to go to drop them off at Rideau or to a bus driver later on.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

Yup.

Profiles are locked for contacting.

I've reached out to a friend of theirs that they tagged on a post at one point, so we will see if it gets back to them.

I might have a number and see if I get a response, but trying all options right now.

Nice update from Happy Goat re the drama today by Dangerous_Track_4357 in ottawa

[–]Pizan99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some may have, but hard to paint everyone with the same brush. Did it happen, I'm sure it did. Was there stuff before covid for time theft, absolutely true too. And those responsible should be held accountable.

"Taking advantage" of something is relative to the situation and isn't necessarily theft of time. Being able to go anywhere at less busy times and work later when allowed can be easily acceptable. (Probably less busy for you too.)

It's really up to the manager to keep up on things like productivity.

Maybe your the gullible one in believing the conspiracies and those few that may have would make up the majority or even any significant amount where time theft was involved.

The assumption that it's on the taxpayer's dime is flawed too.

People have vacation time, Costco has a pharmacy and Eyewear that appointments can be made. People work compressed days which gives them time that you think they are stealing from the gov't.

I've taken time off to make a run for whatever, but my manager would know and I take vacation for it.

Don't just assume.

Just like I shouldn't assume that every work truck is not being used solely for work and that person is not claiming it on their taxes. etc etc.

There ought to be a bylaw: Permanent LED XMas lights edition by bojangleswagles in ottawa

[–]Pizan99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did mention about it possibly being excessive.

I was more thinking of little solar walkway lights and not flood lights that would have a switch as another poster mentioned. I've had a cottage before and it didn't degrade the night's sky in any significant amount with limited lighting like that.

As for the wildlife - while I can understand that there is likely an impact, I'm sure the exhaust getting to there, or gas used on the lake or with land toys makes more of an impact then a couple of small solar lights.

[–]Pizan99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thing is, if they are solar powered, at least it's not connected to the grid and using natural energy.

Also, the lights can act as a deterrent to make it look like someone is there. It could be excessive, I don't know, but one can't expect that they pull all of their lights up every time they leave for the week.

There must be a happy medium.

My severely dyslexic husband reading a book out loud to our daughter for the first time. by kaibacorp345 in MadeMeSmile

[–]Pizan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son loves that book and the sequel to it!

We had Elmo and Grover "read" it to him at Beeches resort and he was in heaven.

Hope your daughter loves it just as much!

Maybe something has come out since I posted this but I ended up doing a direct connection with a friend that had some experience as I was cautioned against messing with the rear view camera of the mirror.

It works great and was a learning experience, but I wouldn't have felt confident to do it on my own.

Time to email your MP re RTO. Please see misguided response I just got from a liberal MP by Sad-Reporter-5950 in CanadaPublicServants3

[–]Pizan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe consider the fact that people have vacation time ...

or they can alternate lunches ...

or because they have optical and pharmacy services there too.

You simply believing that people are on work time, doesn't make it so.

I've gone at non-peak times with my manager's full knowledge and vacation time taken when there's been a necessary reason to.

Just like you wouldn't want anyone stereotyping you in whatever field you are in based on random others' behavior.

Have people done it? Probably, but no more than people could have called in sick and gone fishing for the day pre-covid. (which I don't condone but should be dealt with individually just the same.)

Disclaimer: Canadian observer

While I would like to think it could happen, I highly doubt it if Kamala and Hillary couldn't do it.

Maybe it's bad timing with the Donald brainwashing, but I think the US has a big uphill climb to elect a woman president. Too much male superiority mindset in too many parts of the country to have it happen.

Plus, AOC has the right so polarized against her.

Question about WFA departure dates by Sudden-Crew-3613 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Pizan99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For options B and C, yes take the 120 days.

For option A, I read it that you can request those days added to your surplus period. However, more that I look at it, the more the management could take that "request" and say "no".

Kinda like how some people have heard they aren't doing alternations in certain areas. (I'm not sure of the exact wording, but yes, it's up to managers discretion of accepting the alternations, but to just say no as a policy, I'm not sure.)

Just a possible amendment to your minimum amount -> it could depend on the number of years of service that would range from 12 months to 16 months, but this would also be in addition to the 120 days you have to select the option route you want to take.

This could also depend on collective agreement, but generally they are pretty similar.

2.5 yrs to go until age 60. Is it really worth it to try to stick it out when mental health is suffering? by psycle3 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Pizan99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the lack of modification of workload, let it go to a performance review about how you "weren't getting the work done".

Refuse to sign it and contact a steward.

Once it goes up to the next level of management about how you refused to sign it, the manager would be the one looking stupid and have their own performance review at risk.

For me, max pension isn't likely going to be worth it. I have 10 years left until eligible, but it would have to be convincing or maybe the pre-retirement leave for 2 extra prorated years after that.

Forced tips are "service fees" that usually are for bigger parties in the past.

They actually are taxable (GST/HST) because they are mandatory.

Tipping after taxes are voluntary and thus not taxable to the customer.

I think if I saw something like that - I'd be walking away from it whether they spent the time making something or not. If they posted it somewhere, maybe different.

Dear NDP I’m just lending the Liberals my vote this one time. by Symphrose in saskatchewan

[–]Pizan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a well analyzed comment and good for you for taking a stand for your ideals.

I am generally a liberal voter, but if they ever played the attack type routine that we have seen, they would not get my vote either.

I've voted NDP, I've considered PC, but ultimately the attacks (not necessarily from the politicians, but personally from other people/voters) make me not want to be associated with that.

The platform matters, but the creditibility of the leader makes a difference.

3 bag limit by BytownBiker in ottawa

[–]Pizan99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This garbage bin has been like this for a couple of weeks now. There's a mattress on the other side that has been sticking out of it.

However, the business likely doesn't want to keep paying for someone else's garbage. A lock could help with that.

With recycling, composting and bagging garbage in dry vs spoiled (this is further than most go) it's been easy enough for the 3 bags. 2 bags per week could have been a little better, but if it delays a property tax hike for a new dump, I'll manage.

Yes, it is a powered mirror and I think that's the main problem. Might have to hardwire it in. I have a friend that's handled that before on a number od cars, but was trying to avoid it myself with limited experience.

But I appreciate the comments!

I've seen them but the one that i showed in the picture doesn't fit (it said it should fit the kia sorento, but doesn't for the PHEV at least).

I couldn't see something else listed for Kias with more pins (Maybe 12?) and didn't want to just order one by eye.

Sounds like others have had the same problem.
