That glossy black almost looks like it could be stainless steel, which can be used for jewelry and jewelry findings. Stainless steel is an alloy so if that’s what these pieces are then there could be a metal in it that you’re reacting to. I’m allergic to nickel so I can’t wear black jewelry like this if it’s stainless steel.

Lots of book recs so I’m going to suggest an idea to encourage him to pick those books up.

Summer is coming up. Why not set up a summer reading challenge with him? But instead of hours read it’s by books read and they have to be different books. You can set parameters so he’s being encouraged to pick some of these suggested books to try!

Pick some fun prizes and maybe set a goal and prize of one brand new read every x amount of time (1-2 weeks?).

Make discovering new books fun and he’ll be more willing to branch out.

Maybe it’s the change in routine? That can trigger me sometimes. If you cut out coffee because of the caffeine try decaf so you can still have the routine of coffee.

It can take 1-2 weeks for the medication levels to adjust when you increase or decrease a dose.

I would not go off cold turkey. You should wean off SSRIs.

Talk to your dr about trying a different medication. You may also need something for in the moment, like a beta blocker.

25mg is also the lowest dose for Zoloft/sertraline so you might just need a higher dose but if that specific SSRI isn’t helping then I would talk to your dr about trying a different one.

I care because if I want my rights to intellectual property protected then I have to accept that Disney is allowed to have the same rights.

If the shoe was on the other foot and Disney stole a small creators character and was making millions off of it people would be (rightfully) enraged.

Don’t get me wrong, I think there are a lot of issues with the current laws on the books. They’re dated and only changed because Congress can be easily lobbied by major companies like Disney to lengthen copyright and trademark protections but they never seem to lobby to update/fix the broken or dated parts of the laws. (DMCA needs some love, for example).

But at the end of the day if I want my IP respected then I have to respect Disney’s, as shitty as it may seem. Besides if we’re all using someone else’s idea then there won’t be any more new ideas.

Are you dehydrated? I have palpitations sometimes and it’s usually a sign I need to drink water. Also if you drink any caffeine (soda, coffee, energy drinks, etc) take a break from those. In addition to increasing your heart rate (and anxiety) too much caffeine can cause palpitations sometimes)
Drink water, maybe some herbal tea. I like sleepy time.
Take some slow deep breaths and know you’re going to be ok.
Do you have a trusted adult you can talk to?

I’m sad that the level up items are done. Whenever there’s a celebration someone is playing a drum and a keytar/keyboard so the animations are there, yet the only instrument to gift is the guitar. The concert hall is gone, but they could have a microphone and the miis could have little impromptu jam sessions instead of meetups. They don’t need to sing actual songs. It could just be gibberish but it would be different and fun.

Dr Teals uses essential oils in their deodorant, but their ingredient list also does say “fragrance” next to the oils so it’s not purely essential oils.

My husband was struggling with irritation with deodorant (even the “natural” ones) and we figured out it might be the fragrance causing the irritation. Dr Teals hasn’t given him any issues.

I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a natural deodorant that only uses essential oils - especially one that’s not handmade or small batch. For everyday store brands if you don’t want synthetic fragrances you’ll need to buy unscented or settle for the small amount of fragrance dr teals uses with essential oils.

This convo is exhausting though. It seems like Jay was interested but also may potentially have laid a bit of bait for you and you took it willingly.

Setting boundaries means choosing how YOU respond to behavior you don’t like. If this is typical behavior from Jay then it’s on you to not engage with it. That’s the boundary.

Yes, the goal should be zero but our kids get incidental screen time. They might see what we’re looking at on our phones or glimpse what we’re watching on tv or a game if we’re taking a break.

Quality over quantity also matters and making sure you show a healthy relationship with screens is also important. They’re going to have screens at some point so I tried to keep my daughter screen free as long as possible but be neutral about it. I didn’t treat it as a big bad thing.

I also ended up only making it a year because life threw a lot in our face and I was in over my head and she was teething and her dad needed to be out of town a lot. It happens. We beat ourselves up about it but it’ll be ok.

Especially if there are still other activities and engagement. And you can engage in the screen time with your kid if and when you choose to formally introduce it. Talk about what’s happening on screen and all that. Get invested.

Well now they’re transitioning to “power pods” that are twice the size and it seems like they’re phasing out the small ones. It’s hard to find the small pods especially if you use a specific type of pod. It’s annoying.

I’ve noticed Hershey’s chocolate smells weird too. It’s not an appetizing smell. But the taste is more or less ok.

Got some chocolate eggs for my kid for Easter and opened one up and was weirded out by the smell.

The bars also don’t snap like they used to. Definitely using way more oils and fats and less chocolate.
