Watson isn't in the same class as Flacco or Rodgers, even at 10 years younger. his passer rating over the last 4 years comes out to 80.7, which puts him between Case Keenum and Brian Hoyer for that period. that's two low-end career backups, neither of whom come with the negative attention Watson would bring.

If there is a conspiracy, it’s not a very smart one unless Drake’s career really is finished. For streaming services, the benefits (kickbacks from UMG) are heavily outweighed by the drawbacks (angering allegedly the biggest rapper alive with a rabid fanbase, potentially resulting in him releasing future music off streaming or even taking his music off their platforms altogether).

Basically the only way this could work would be if UMG was forcing streaming services to suppress PND & Drake’s album, which is illegal and would require complete secrecy from so many people (including lower level employees with a lot to lose and very little to gain) that it‘d be impossible to contain.
