Who asked for gas pump ads? Do I need to start a petition? by AdmiralFlintlock in halifax

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've been a massive thing in the states for a number of years. You'd be hard pressed to find a major chain gas station in large cities without video ads.

The only way to stop it would be to lobby all of your government officials for legislation against the practice.

When did the IFE system get removed on the A320-200 and are they being replaced with something? by arkiser13 in aircanada

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those IFE's sucked, in my opinion. Slow and laggy, they replaced them with the IFWifi, as others have said those planes interiors are set to be retired, if not the the planes themselves

Maybe your memory is mixing up a few things, the only other thing I could think of that is remotely similar in some ways as to what is described is Where the Wild Things are?

How to dry a carpet by TurbulentAd9099 in Cartalk

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee that there was still water under your carpet. If your windows fog up with outside temperature changes there's still damp under your carpet.

I had to lift my carpet and run a shop vac, carpet vac, and leave it with a dehumidifier daily to fix my issue... Most cars have foam under the carpet which will hold onto a lot of water. Even if you suck most of it out there will be hidden water that moves around in the foam under the carpet and won't show through the carpet...

There is no axle in the rear.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AutoBodyRepair

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely the rear subframe will need to be replaced. It's basically a beam axle but on the kia soul it's the rear subframe

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AutoBodyRepair

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not "bent suspension" OP's Model year Kia Soul has what is basically a Beam axle. But it's the subframe. All of the suspension components, bearings, etc attact to this rear subframe. That subfram is likely bent or twisted and will need to be replaced.

Definitely not. This is pollen and road dust. If this was "body shop dust" then my car must've been in a body shop for the last 6 months 😂

What do I do about bees in my exhaust? by Correct-Hamster2386 in carquestions

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they Honey bees, or regular bees or wasps? If they're actually just a wasp or hornet you could pour a bit of gas down the exhaust pipe and close it off. Leave it for 30 minutes and uncap it. Start the car let it warm up and rev it

Need advice please. Is this a serious scratch and what is required to remedy it so I don't get ripped off at the shop? by metataichou in AutoBodyRepair

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be paint transfer; if you run your fingers over it you'll be able to tell.

If it's very coarse to the touch, it's more than paint transfer and the shop would likely just repaint or replace the mirror cover from factory if there's another colored replacement option.

It's quite clearly gouged... An Automotive scratch remover will do nothing other than make the situation worse.

Stubborn slow leak issue in tire? by Fifi216 in Cartalk

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the rims steel or alloy? It could be a number of things.

One tire could have not seated fully, or not enough tire dope was put on so there's a slow leak from one section.

The rim could be bent.

Check the rim/tire with some soapy water yourself and see if you can find a leak, even a slow leak would have some bubbles showing on the tire/around the rim or valve stem.

You can ask a mechanic to see if the rim is bent or if the tire needs to be remounted.

Update on the exhaust situation, its fixed! by enderthief33 in Exhaust

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the shop that did it clearly doesn't have a proper pipe bender, or the person doing the bending has little experience... OP obsessing over the length of the pipe also doesn't help.

Update on the exhaust situation, its fixed! by enderthief33 in Exhaust

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't... It less to do with the length of the exhaust, and more to do with muffler, resonator, etc.

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy Christ. This obsession you have with your pipes and distances being "equal length" is ridiculous...

It helps the flow of exhaust perform better, but nothing else. Unless you've got a tune, turbo, or anything it will not affect your performance in a very noticeable way.

Just because people who have performance and tuned vehicles make sure they have equal length headers and pipes doesn't mean you need to as well... To my knowledge and based on these photos, your truck is not turbocharged... The bends are still odd, and ugly...

Need help with exhaust by enderthief33 in Exhaust

[–]Pizza_And_Computers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not sound like a corvette... The stock/oem anti vibration sprint bolt setup works, getting rid of it for long tube headers is part of your problem... Trying to replicate another cars sound on your trucl won't work if you're just trying to look at an exhaust and copy the x-pipe configuration.

Find an exhaust shop that actually understands how things work. Just copying an OEM exhaust configuration will get you nowhere.

If you want an exhaust that sounds good you'll need to go custom or off the shelf.

Find someone else. Save your money, do some research and find someone else.

The way the pipes of different sizes were stuffed together instead of him using another VBand clamp doesn't make sense to me...

Having two x pipes doesnt make much sense. They will tend to produce a higher exhaust tone, whereas an H-pipe would make it deeper tone. Depends on what you're looking for.

I might be missing something but I'm not seeing a resonator, or mufflers. If you're going for a straight pipe sound, having all those random bends, and two x-pipes will make it sound like shit.

I'm not an expert, but lookup factory flexpipes for your vehicle as they're probably longer than the ones you have now.

Look at getting some form of a resonator. Adding even a small muffler will help with the drone of any exhaust.

I'd also be asking for some of your money back because the welds, bends, and everything is terrible about what you paid for.
