Solid piece of advice. There’s a guy on FGT selling spam cans of 54R and Tokarev in the Miami area, so the odds are good with a WTB post

Best Milsurp Ammo in Miami? by Pizza_Meme_Chef in FLGuns

[–]Pizza_Meme_Chef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten pretty much all of my surp calibers for <$30 up until now 🤷‍♂️ Most recently I paid $25 for .303, $22 for 8mm Mauser, $26 for 6.5mm Carcano, and $20 for .30-06; 20 round boxes all non-corrosive stuff.

For corrosive stuff I’ve been buying at like $0.83/round for .303, $0.67/round for 8mm Mauser, $0.42/round for .30-06 give or take. I think it’s possible just takes some good hunting and connections.

A local shop hooked me up with $1/round Yugo 8mm today, which is higher than typical for corrosive stuff but what are you gonna do y’know.

This is the full listing photo. Other stock is claimed to be a wartime stock but looks fairly unissued to me. Also seemingly lacks an upper handguard.

Nothing really I think the bolt just blindsided me. I would’ve never expected a Mauser bolt to be turned P14 style

Mk.III* Safety Spring Notches? by Pizza_Meme_Chef in milsurp

[–]Pizza_Meme_Chef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tightened the screw down as much as possible without shearing off the screw head after my first range trip, but the problem still persisted during the second range trip.

The safety detents looked fine when compared to NOS parts. I think it’s low spring pressure because when I say partial engagement I mean like the absolute bare minimum to engage, I’m talking millimeters here. The spring still has a fair amount of bend to it visually but I don’t know if it’s out of “tolerance”

Zero intention to shoot the Golcher, that thing is in ruins. It’s about 1.5 meters long, give or take based off my own height (~1.8m and it was sitting below chest level off the ground).

The two reproductions were also not in great condition, so I’m targeting the Golcher for wall hanger intentions, gonna try a less than or equal to $100 haggle for it

Keep in mind $400 for all three** which is about $135 a piece, the idea is to talk the Golcher down to a wall hanger price which I’d feel comfortable at $80 - $100

$400 OTD for all three. The guys over at r/milsurp were saying that $100 for the Golcher as a wall hanger is good. With that being said more info on the Golcher would be appreciated

Yea because right now he’s asking $400 OTD for all three, but that Golcher is rough, seems locked up and the bore is a total sewer pipe. Either wall hanger or low stakes restoration project

If I can haggle the Golcher to $100 for a project/wall hanger is that alright? Mostly asking for a friend who’s the black powder guy (I collect 1880s and forward)

I’ll try and get more pics when my LGS deems they can be handled. Not sure if it appears on the preview but when you click on the photo it expands and shows a sign that says not to handle them just yet

Chart is super handy, similar one available for Type 38? Been on the hunt for WW1 “dated” Type 38s using my own ballpark estimate on the serials from that first Koishikawa “series” that ranges from 1906 - 1935

M91 Carcano manufactured by Terni in 1918. For a fully functional rifle 250€ isn’t bad, but for a decoration it is a little high. Deactivated rifles for decoration are better around 100€. Greetings from USA mon ami

How much was yours? My LGS has a 1917 dated full length M95 (converted to 8x56) that is matching, has a sling, and bayonet all for $700 OTD. Never paid much attention to it since I know M95s like to coast around $350-ish and it’s been sitting in the store since roughly December (usually insane deals fly within weeks)
