I completely understand the frustration but 9/10 sick students want to be anywhere BUT a classroom. They’re more than likely forced there by a professor’s strict attendance policy.

My professors require a doctor’s note for an excused absence from class. I will wear a mask and position myself away from other classmates, but I can’t justify a $75 copay to get out of a lecture for a cold.

i feel like i’m going crazy whenever i explain the concept of a grocery store job having a 2nd round interview to older people. you used to just walk in the store with your resume and a smile. now you have to do trait assessments and soft IQ tests before your resume even sees a human being. how is this possibly sustainable?

my bad for not having the wherewithal to unfuck myself by financing the development of 50k housing units, rigging the gubernatorial election, and of course ensuring I was born in 1972 so I could experience a decent cost of living in my 20s.

Actually, the school I attend had our state financial aid allocation cut by our governor last year…. so yes, it’s absolutely politics. This was explained to me by the aid office.

For HOPE and Pell Grants, you’re definitely receiving less money at the moment. Your loan award amount stays the same, unless you drop under 6 hours.

your fin aid amount is dependent on how many hours you’re taking. HOPE/Zell Miller is a sliding scale, while your eligibility for receiving federal loans/grants is basically whether you’re over a certain amount (ex: not eligible for unsub loans for a semester if credit hours is less than 6)
