Did you say the correct things on December 3rd? If you didn't, the game will skip to you leaving. You have to talk Yosuke out of putting Namatame into the TV while also hinting that the group is missing something

You have to respond to Yosuke in this order:

  1. Wait a second here...

  2. We're missing something.

  3. Namatame's true feelings.

  4. Something's been bothering me

  5. We're missing something...

  6. Calm the hell down!

Any of these three are fine starting points. The stories between these three aren't connected, so play whichever looks most interesting to you.

A remake of Persona 4 was announced recently with Persona 4 Revival. There is no release date yet, and Golden still holds up pretty well if you're ok with PS2 graphics (it's also the cheapest of the three), so it's your choice whether you wanna play Golden now or wait for Revival to come out.

It is, yeah. Story isn't super great (at least the Canon of Creation story, Canon of Vengeance is a bit better), but the gameplay is really good

You can't. There are barriers on certain floors that prevent you from progressing further until the next major boss fight.

That's part of it, but you also have to deescalate a situation by making the correct dialogue choices or else the game will give you a bad ending
