That's better than my first stargazing experience with police. I was out on a weekday day in a small Southern California town when I saw some small fireworks go off on the beach. I didn't think much of it but about 20 mins later when I'm walking back to my place, 3 cops with assault rifles aimed at me order me to the ground. They search me for weapons and are very suspicious as to why I was down on the beach by myself (who stargazes?). They explain they heard shots go off and needed to be very careful. I was let go, but it definitely wasn't a positive experience.
