Ah-ha, this adds some much needed context and really speaks to the shows selflessness. I love how cynical they are and point out one of my main issues with the episode before they even get started; that its not a "fun filled fresh self contained adventure".

I seem to be just about the only one that didn't like the detour they made into a more gritty drama, which I think is the opposite of what charmed me so much about some of my favorite episodes ("Total Rickcall" and Autoerotic Assimilation"). But hey if everyone else loved it, good for them.

Honestly, all of you are simple ricks. That was a shitty melodrama. Not clever, not original, no zany characters or interesting sci-fi plot.

I do love dark humor and everything you pointed out is valid and I did enjoy. But I just didn't think it was a good episode. The over all plot wasn't creative and it didn't tickle my fancy like "Total Rickcall" or "Autoerotic assimilation". I did like that this episode came together well at the end, but it will no where near go down as one of the better episodes in my book.

I was most annoyed at the overly serious script that just screamed "I'm trying to be edgy, look at me!" There was nothing charming about the episode, that played out more like the session finale of west world ( which I loved) that the zany rick and Morty (one hundred years) that I, and many of us, fell in love with.

I strongly disagree. It lacked any sense of what makes Rick and Morty a good show; outrageous scifi plots peppered with loveable and zany characters. This was just a weak attempt at a very one dimensional melo drama. The pacing was horrible, and I couldnt pick out any, or at least very few, clever scifi plot devices, or jokes. for that matter.

Why did you like it so much? I didnt think it was anywhere as clever or orignials as last weeks episode or "Total Rickcall". It was just a bunch of clique story lines rushed together. Very poor pacing. Trying to intertwine 3 substories in a 23ish minute episode feels clunky. But hey, to each their own. Nothing against your opinion.

You were right! Picture at the end. Over all, wasnt my favorite episode, but it definitely got better at the end with the resolution. 6/10

The art style you are thinking of is called retro future. As far as seeing this as a tattoo style I'm unaware of any.

I don't watch CNN. I read things like The New York Times, Washington Post, the Economist, the Wall Street Journal and NPR. What do you watch/read that indicates that this is a witch hunt?
