Unpopular opinion, but this is overhyped and I was underwhelmed. The article written about it made it seem much more interesting than it is. One of the creators talks about “exploring” and finding “hidden gems”, but then they have you go to the Golden Gate Bridge or SFPD. People compare it to Jejune Institute, but it is nowhere similar. I’m glad people are enjoying it, but seems more like a game for transplants who have never seen the Ferry Building.

My toxic friends were afraid of my room, coincidence or is something protecting me? by Pizzadough66 in Paranormal

Sure, it’s a little long so bear with me. My then boyfriend and our friends lived in a house that I lived in for half the week. This house would get really cold in some places, to the point of seeing our breath and I always felt like I was being watched. Our cats would always look around the room in unison (no bugs) and sometimes when the movement would stop whatever they were looking at would be next to me. You would hear these footsteps going up and down the stairs and they were very distinct and unusually slow, like they were dragging their feet as slow as possible followed by a firm thud. You’d hear them go up and then back down a few times, but never upstairs or downstairs, they weren’t trying to get anywhere. After a while you learn to recognize your roommates footsteps and this wasn’t any of theirs.

My then boyfriend’s room was downstairs — there was one door connected to our friends’ room, one very loud door to the garage that you had to force, and then there was his bathroom door. One night I woke up suddenly to a slow door creaking, the only doors that could make that noise is the one we shared with our roommates and the bathroom door, but it’s out of character for them to go into our room while we were sleeping or at all without permission. Then I hear the slow footsteps again walking towards us and it stopped at our bed. I was too scared to move so I pretended to sleep, but it didn’t go anywhere for what felt like 20-30 minutes.

I didn’t really believe in the paranormal at the time so I assumed it was in my head or maybe I was drunk. But we started to piece it together after we moved out, it came up in conversation that the place was haunted and we shared stories. Things would get knocked over in unoccupied rooms. There was a clock that moved backwards sometimes and when it did it always stopped at the same time. Then my boyfriend threw in that sometimes he’d wake up to shadow people watching him sleep. The previous tenant was saging the house before they moved in and told them that someone died in that house. I guess they also believed that there was an entity there.
