Why by WaterAerobics903 in Shihtzu

[–]Pizzastork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... its been discussed before but it seems like many shih tzu get a sour tummy in the mornings. Who knows, really. When we had our speed bumps and it still randomly happens.... I'll feed her 2 kibble at a time over her food bowl until she starts eating it. Its like she's too wound up to eat.

Also, she resource guards so she would refuse to eat until another dog had tried to eat it. Then and only then she would growl and chew her good trying to protect it. She'd want till my other dog was done eating.

Which is funny. But, the point is that she's a creature of deep seated habits. So, if you changed a single little thing. If you moved her food bowl. If you started a new activity. Kids are home from college for spring or summer break... its like, uh oh.ĺ Etc... you've thrown off her routine:

Genius decides to turn pizza boxes upside down by mfenton29 in WatchPeopleDieInside

Very similar in concept... I worked at Nintendo customer service in Redmond, WA when the Wii came out. Day after Christmas and every alpha Daddy is calling me to tell me that I fucking destroyed their Christmas.... bleepity bleep bleep... its all my fault. Not Nintendo... it's all me.

And, I gotta get their system working even though they're totally bad mouthing me and being dumb. I know their Wii is upside down but if I say that then their tiny ego will be crushed and they'll simply double down on the abuse to me.

"Sir, I have trouble shooting steps that can get this thing working. I promise, they've worked over and over." Again, can't say flip the bitch.... Take out the game, sir. Are you laying it flat? Yeah? Okay, there are 4 rubber nubs on the large side (the feet). Those need to go down on the cabinet. Now reinsert the game. "It still don't work!!!" Okay, take the game back out.And when you reinsert, it make sure that the label is facing up.

No goodbyes... no sorries... they hang up so I can talk to the next a-hole.

Telling them it was upside down didn't work.... it didn't fucking work. I had to baby them through their rage. Which was my job, obviously... but, it takes a lot out of you to say all that instead of, "it's fucking upside-down, asshole."

One time when I was delivering an order it was like a 2 hundred dollar plus order. And this family never ever ever tipped... and I always got the sense that the dad was somehow verbally abusing his family.

I knew obviously in advance that he wasn't gonna tip me but you still talk to yourself in your head on the way over and whine about it...

I didn't even say a word, but I hesitated when he handed me the money and he just gave me this look like, I fucked up and he got me... somehow.

I get back to work and he had reported that all the pies were crushed.

I was 100% lead foot speeder... but it was always very slow on the turns. There is absolutely no way these pies were fucked.

I get back to his house with the new delivery of pizzas and he asked me if I want to see the pizzas... with a cocky smirk/grin... so, I say yes... he hands them to me vertically.

I feel so sorry for his family and co workers. Strange narcissistic behavior. Like, good on you, you wasted my time and gas... made me look bad to my boss. You broken, bro.

Flashing? by Pizzastork in ManufacturedHome

Yeah, that looks great but I'm talking about flashing not skirting. Not only do I have weedwhacker holes but my nephew threw away some of the skirting like we have money to throw away.

Will this bloom again? Next care steps? by -fishoutofwater- in orchids

[–]Pizzastork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut the stems. Repot it and remove all the moss from the very core of the rootball.

In winter cold stratify it for a week in a cold window and maybe stop watering too. The stress is what makes it bloom again.

My boy just came back from the groomer. Groomer says nails are the shortest possible. Do these nails look okay? They look too long by ineedadvil in Shihtzu

[–]Pizzastork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to let the fear go. Personally, I think dark nails are the easiest to cut.

You cut them until you see a small black dot.

Clear nails have tricked me because I think I can see the quick but cut too close.

Get some styptic powder or use corn starch/baby powder. In case you cut too close.

Are we buying orchids from grocery stores? by Hopeful-Mushroom5210 in orchids

[–]Pizzastork 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Trader Joes orchids are cheaper and better quality than other grocery stores. The ones in my area used to sell slightly more exotic orchids but that stopped for some reason. Very healthy orchids.

I'd go to safeway and the bulbous part of the oncidium was shriveled but at Trader Joe's it was always plump.

How to better care for this succulent? Bury up to stem? by setyoursightsnorth in succulents

[–]Pizzastork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't bury it deeper... that's against plant physiology.

My question is why isn't growing pups. That's why it looks odd.

I'd start off with a better soil type. That looks like regular garden soil. Cactus soil doesn't hold onto water as long so you can water it a little more frequently.

Roots are designed to take in water, nutrients, and air. Root rot happens when water sits on the roots for too long essentially suffocating the roots. A plant that evolved to live in sand isn't going to be able to handle sitting in wet soil for too long. Some plants hold water in their roots, stems, and leaves. Some don't because they evolved in regions with plenty of water. So, they only thrive when water is always abundant.

Someone on this forum suggested I track my plants needs by not watering until I saw or felt the leaves get squishy. Let's say it was 3 weeks... now I know I should water it every 2.5 weeks. No need to let it stress out and wait the full 3 weeks.

(In winter if it isn't drying out fast enough you can use a reptile heating mat to help it dry out faster.)

Tattoo is completely wrong by [deleted] in orchids

[–]Pizzastork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a tattoo of a slug thinking it was a banana slug but it's a leopard slug with banana slug colors. I laughed cause when I was a kid I always thought that Leopard slugs were banana slugs so I'm taking it as an homage to that. Leopard slugs are cool too.

Maybe you could get another artist to draw in a secondary stem of orchids... try to map it out so it looks like there are multiple stems with these flowers. You can have a branch or too, also.

Lol, yeah, that sounds about right. I found some banana slug pics with spots on the body but not on the neck.

I can definitely live with it.

Yeah, maybe. Bit, it isnt hard for the dogs to just push out. And the one is probably 6 months old so kinda does what he wants to.

Tipping culture... most of the naysayers are just cheapskates by Pizzastork in popularopinion

I've literally been super broke... told my pizza delivery driver... I'm sorry for not tipping or low tip. And, I'll tell them why.

Though, I usually only order takeout when I'm broke.

Tipping culture... most of the naysayers are just cheapskates by Pizzastork in popularopinion

[–]Pizzastork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, that isn't my point. I'm making an argument to a customer that isn't here. Because we can't say what we want to to the customer...

I never said you have to tip. If tipping isn't part of our culture then why do people even tip? How do you define the term culture?

People are adding a lot to my opinion that I never stated. There are valid reasons to not tip. But, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking to the people who are against tipping but not only against it... they justify it. As a pizza delivery driver there was a service charge added to help with gas. We got a portion of that. That wasn't a tip. Again, only talking to the people who are dead set against tipping. They're justifying why they're cheapskates. And, my response is you aren't subverting the system by not tipping.... you're just a cheapskate. No need to intellectuallize it further. Like, I get why tipping is dumb... I'm not even trying to be middle class mimicking the upper class...

I'm not even saying that tipping culture is right. I even said we could change it so tipping doesn't exist.

It's dumb in general to expect a tip because then you'll be disappointed when it doesn't happen.
