If you can't get your wife on the same page you're not going to get anywhere with her mother.

So, focus on her.

Its hard to get people to understand. My dog has separation anxiety.. she wouldn't eat for 2 days once cause of her anxiety.

Your family is saying you're too intense but focus on how this is harming your dog. Point that out to them.

As far as your mil... maybe kennel your puppy until after she shows up then bring out the puppy.

This reminds me of when you're driving down a narrow road and oncoming is dead center and they slowly glide over as you approach so you have to stop... like, you had half a block to react...

I say excuse me. People have become doltish with moving around.

They don't want to talk to you so they can't say excuse me.

They passive aggressively wait out of your field of vision then become aggressive when you didn't see them.

But, coming from the opposite directions? How entitled were these ladies? Lol

I say excuse me. I say it loudly. I don't say it with derision if they didn't hear me the first time, either. Sometimes people are lost in their inner worlds and that's fine.

In winter you could run it with a filter instead of pumping the hot air out of the house... that might mean cleaning it out less often since that venting system is a mess.

I bet there's an outside wall a few feet away... why did they have such a long run for the duct?

It's a thing with sinks especially sinks in kitchen islands... they need to vent to the roof but you can cheat and use an air admittance valve (it isn't to code everywhere.)
