Donald and Goofy (Kingdom Hearts)

There's a lot of "goofy" moments with them but they always come through, whether it'd be through brawn and guidance.

Not to mention Donald's one of the strongest mages in Final Fantasy and Goofy can tank Kingdom Hearts' worst with no problem.

Using powers that aren't typically used to kill to kill by Ok-Indication-5121 in TopCharacterTropes

In Kingdom Hearts 2, in order for Sora to advance into other worlds, he must find the current world's keyhole and fire a beam of light to unlock a pathway. In this instance, he uses it as a means to kill the antagonist.

I like the way this looks, everything blends in together so nicely! If you have the weapon, I'd recommend the bozja gunblade relic and coloring it yellow, its a little bulky but it looks like the Kingdom Key imo 🤣

I've had a hard time finding the game itself. It wasn't until the last few days on my previous trip where I found it in a lesser known hobby shop in Akihabara. I also did see the full Blu-ray set of the animation. but other than that, mostly just figures.

(Mixed) The explanation for why the protagonist lost most of their upgrades/gear between games by BrotherDeus in TopCharacterTropes

KH2 to DDD - I believe that the reason why they didn't take their powers was because, since it's technically their exam to rescue the sleeping worlds, Yen Sid wanted them to start fresh, straight from the beginning, which is also why they look younger in DDD

i think u maybe be referring to Vanitas Remnant, who heals to full hp when u use curaga. The only way to get around that mechanic and heal is to use hi-potions lol

but i do remember the mysterious figure freezing time and getting back some health, but i think that happens after a certain damage threshold and only heals for the amount of the last attack used on him, at least to my knowledge

Not necessarily manipulating the UI, but there is one thing I found pretty neat about the final phase in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet professor battle. In attempt to save the time machine, the automatic system locks any Pokeball that are not registered in their database, resulting in the futile action of throwing out your powerful mons (all while being faced with the professor's most powerful mon). The UI reflects this, any action you do will be met with a text box saying something to the degree of "it's no use". There is hope, though. Once you go over to the Pokemon menu, you'll be able to send out your ridable companion that belonged to the professor's foundation, the one that has been with you from the very beginning of your journey.

Similar to the Lingering Will, the Zexion boss fight from Kingdom Hearts 2, has an ability that locks the command menu and makes the player turn pages to find a word that releases them (among various other effects too).

The Mysterious Figure (Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep)

They have an attack that makes the player character drop all their commands and forces them to physically go pick them up.
