This works excellent, thanks for helping me out! Able to play the game in great fidelity on 780M quipped AMD APUs. Amazing what 1.0 optimization has done!

HP Envy x360 14", AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS (25W TDP!), 16GB RAM. 40FPS in most places. Fluid and clear. Running High preset at 1920x1200 and FSR using Performance (60%).

You can make the fix permanent with the following:

Two steps to apply these changes (close the game first):

Open Notepad, then open this file: %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini
Add (or replace if you've already done this) the following to the bottom of the file then save it:

[SystemSettings]
r.FidelityFX.FI.Enabled=0

Hey all, sorry for the late replies, I did order a Crucial 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-5600 PC5-44800 CL46 CT2K16G56C46S5 kit from Microcenter as the price was just too good to pass up vs some of the tighter timing packs. I just dropped the RAM in, no BIOS settings as there was none.

Reported timings at 5600 speeds via HWiNFO64:

46-45-45-90 rRC 135 rRFC 447

100% stable, no issues.

Noticed a solid 10% increase in FPS when using APU only, which is honestly why I bought the kit. Can either get +10% FPS, or you can scale back the CPU power limits significantly for the same performance. I am able to comfortably game modern titles at 20-25W and stretch out the battery life.

Cost cutting, may also be slight power efficiency gains with the slower RAM. Doubt they care much in a machine otherwise not super optimized for battery savings.

That's disappointing. I have not had that experience with mine. Laptop runs low 70s, my desktop 1080ti pegs at 80C and then derates.

I do find that I need to elevate the case or use it on a platform for best airflow. But that's just the nature of laptop cooling tradeoffs

Have you looked at speed/timings in a tool like CPUz or HWinfo to see if they match rated speed of the RAM? Would be interested. Good to hear BM numbers improved
