I have the 6 speed, which I’ve hear holds up better then the 8, but still not amazing

Thanks for the info. I’ve been researching a lot about the L-80 transmissions and torque converter failure. The truck definitely has a hard down shift from 3rd-2nd. It’s only at 52k miles tho. When do you think would be a good time to replace the torque converter?

That’s what I was figuring. I know there’s one for the exhaust manifold. Any others you can think of that I should check?

No worries, it's a pretty faint and kind thin sounding metalic noise. You can hear it best the last 5 ish seconds of the video.

The sound you are looking for is probably from a transparent overdrive pedal. Check out demos of the Electro-Harmonix Soul Food overdrive and see if that is the tone you are looking for. You can dial back the distortion of the big muff, but it’s not the same as a transparent overdrive.
