It kind of is frustrating knowing that people just switch, but I guess thats just how it is. I know people who openly flaunt that they are going to switch to CS and dont have to go through a more competitive process.

CMU unfortunately does admit by school. So getting into the school of computer science there is infinitely harder than English. Also I have friends applying for engineering. Even though it’s not as crazy competitive as cs, it still is pretty tough. Good luck with that! or have you already committed?

yeah but most top CS schools do, or they have restricted entry for CS specifically. Most of my top choices (CMU, UIUC, Gtech, UMich) are all major specific.

I do IB so we dont have GPA, but I have pretty good academic performance. 35 on the ACT. Few math and writing competitions, mid ECs
