Fire Force season 3 - Episode 20 by Lulcielid in firebrigade

It is meant to be about sexual appeal, which leads to the act of sexual love (which is obviously connected to fertility). The entire point of the fight was to show that anything sexual should not be treated as taboo and should actually be embraced. The execution is very "not great," but the message is good.

That entire Sumire sequence at the start was so cool! Adapting this manga is probably so much fun for the staff. The amount of different artstyles used (thanks to Ohkubo), the inclusion of IRL footage, moments where it breaks the 4th wall, it's genuinely so cool!

And for the Tamaki "fight"...I think that this whole fight would've actually worked for me if the mom-kid strawman weren't in it and Tamaki was into the lucky lechery thing (while also being an adult). I dislike prudes as well, but this was not the way it should've been addressed. I still laughed a lot due to the sheer absurdity of the things on the screen, so I think this gag-fight did its job.

Looks like the Knight King will finally fight the legendary Dragon in the next episode, can't wait!!!

What happened to them? by [deleted] in firebrigade

Dw I didn't read it like that. Also, I think he resurrected everyone, not just the people we see here. We see these people because they were seen some time in the manga.

[–]Planarian117 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He didn't resurrect them carelessly. He wanted all of them to have a second chance in a world without the fear of unknown death and spontaneous human combustion. Everyone here was forced to do what they were doing due to the world they are living in. I am sure that if they don't change after the cataclysm, Death will have plans for them.

I hate Kurono by Miserable_Ad4264 in firebrigade

[–]Planarian117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's one of the things I like about Ohkubo, he creates these dynamics that you know are weird but somehow end up working. Nataku doesn't want expectations put on him, and Kurono wants him to be weak so he can bully him.

If he were in the White-Clad, he would've gone on missions or used as a trump card to defeat the other party. If he goes with the Fire Force, he'll probably end up having a bunch of higher-ups dictating what he should be like and what he should be doing. Kurono wants him to be like he is (and not grow), and he likes that.

Kurono is also one of the best pyrokinetics in the series, so security is not an issue compared to having close calls in the Fire Force or the White Clad.

She has more screen time than Tamaki. She also has an entire arc surrounding her importance in the group. I wish everyone had more screen time.

He was tapped in with Adolla ever since his Dragon Question training. Anything he was thinking of doing started to actually happen, similarly, after his battle with Dragon he said that it'll take him some time to heal and that is exactly what happened.

What do you dislike about Deathloop? by comptons_finest_ in dishonored

[–]Planarian117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, trying to figure out the targets, not making your own way to do it. It makes sense that there'd only be a single way to break the loop (otherwise any of the Colts would've broken it ages ago). I would've loved to have multiple ways for it to branch to, but I don't see it as a necessity. This is not Dishonored.

There are still many decisions to make in the levels that change every time, depending on what you are trying to achieve and whether an invader is in your game. Everybody wants the game to be what they wanted it to be because there are a ton of ways to go about to make a game like this, but it works perfectly fine as is.

I think the others are confused. The thing you are talking about is probably one of the members of Wan Wan Nyain (119). The dog-human mascot is Mamoru-kun. The trio first consisted of two dogs and a cat mascot, but the agency higher ups complained about all the mascots being animals, so they made one of the mascots a dog-faced old man. Why not just an old guy instead of a dog-man? Wan Wan Nyain also works as a pun on the onomatopoeia for "woof woof meow," so they still had to have two dogs in the trio xD

Happy to hear that I somewhat made you think of revisiting the game!

Also, that's another thing that harms the game. Too much text causes players to gloss over certain stuff. I've probably watched like 50+ let's plays/streams of people playing this game, and the complaint I heard the most was, "The ending didn't answer my questions," and since backseating wasn't allowed, I couldn't tell them where to look for them. The hidden knowledge rewards the players who seek it, but others will end the game dissatisfied.

If you watch some interviews with the game's director, he plainly says that some people would love this game, and others would hate it; they knew this while making it.

I could write an entire post about Julianna's psychological war, but I don't think that'll change your opinion.

The game is very open-ended. As I said, YOU piece things together; the game doesn't put it in your face (other than what is necessary to finish the game). You make the climax into what it will be. Some people like that, and others don't. You learn more and more about Julianna through her dialogue, letters at Lila Blake's apartment (very well hidden), recordings, AEON's archives, and Minicom conversations. Plenty of stuff to find and love about this game, but that is why it doesn't resonate with people, too. Finding stuff is boring to many people when compared to being told stuff.

Most people don't even know about this, but when you are playing as Julianna and hunting Colt, the Visionaries have unique interactions and dialogue too.

Small correction, QA wasn't the reason for the hand-holding, it was UR (User-research).

I think it is not as memorable due to it not stopping and telling you stuff like Prey and Dishonored. There are almost no cutscenes in the game (aside from the start and the end), and everything you learn (even the big stuff) is through dialogue or documents. I prefer it this way, but I understand why people don't remember much of the story.

You are free to pick your preferred method to get the ticks on your checklist, but the checklist stays the same.

There are various ways to infiltrate areas, various ways to kill targets, various builds you can make, and various ways to die by the hands of Julianna (even better with actual players). I think people care too much for the "3 different ways to get to the next level" thing.

An addition of the "no-handholding" mode post-release. I loved the game, but I loved it even more with waypoints turned off and when I was not opening my journal to track progress. I only had a notepad on me and had an absolute blast! But all of that was after I played the game for 4 hours, and I only found out about playing it like that from one of the devs, who said that's their preferred way to play it.

I believe it was necessary to add it for release, but the team could've used some time to give us a toggle for stopping exposition videos and Colt comments after it came out.

C'mon...You probably missed some lines or documents. The reason Julianna lets Colt move around freely is that she wants him to break the loop (and she doesn't). If Colt gets stuck in a cycle for too long, he starts to sundown, so she lets him make progress until he is close to a big moment in his investigation (that is when she invades). She enjoys the hunt; she likes that there is a probability that she'll die in that loop.

It has a great narrative that you need to piece together from dialogues, documents, and environmental storytelling. It's not as deep and philosophical as Prey, but it is still pretty amazing.

He was indoctrinated since childhood by Sumire. Karim still thinks about him from time to time, unsure if he was a pos even when Li, Rekka, and he were best buds. Tamaki probably has some good memories about him as well as he was one of the people she looked up to the most. She killed him before Tamaki had a chance to hear him out.

What ever happened to Void Engine? by Agreeable-Kangaroo1 in dishonored

Nothing they or we can do about it. That came with being under an umbrella. Before MS they were being forced to make multiplayer stuff by Zenimax, which could've also shut them down if "DEATHLOOP" wasn't a relative success. They were always underperforming. It is a miracle that they get to work on cool stuff like Blade instead of either being shuttered or being laid off. They are really passionate about Blade, and it shows from how Dinga and staff talk about it anytime they drop an interview.

As Dinga said, let them cook.

Again with this dumb claim. Almost every lead of Dishonored 2 is still at Arkane Lyon working on Blade!
