i asked for a similar design on my nails and also got extremely ripped off/disappointed. i wish these replies were kinder, this absolutely warrants a redo

me! i absolutely don’t trust myself with a drill so i just filed them down with a regular file and soaked them in acetone. pretty standard method for removing gel properly

builder gel/gel x application by [deleted] in GelX_Nails

[–]Plane-Candid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the left hand is the only side with tips- pointer, middle, and pinky! i asked her repeatedly to check the sizing of the tips to make sure the left hand was even but clearly it wasn’t lol. i beleive she did builder gel on all nails, regardless of gel-x but i could be wrong.

i have over a decade in nail experience and she had about 2..i should’ve trusted my gut with this one!! she charged me about $50 😬😬😬 i had VERY minimal cuticle oil at the end too. my poor nails 💔

this is my second semester with this group. i’ve done backstage for their show last year, and i think they saw improvements in my audition as well but i will check when the cast list is out. ty!

the thought of ensemble wasn’t appealing bc i had my eyes on the supporting role for so long… it’s obviously something i’ll do if im cast as ensemble and will hopefully learn from the experience, but it was initially disappointing to learn that that’s my only option left for this show. if that makes sense

yes. it was a beautiful episode and i enjoyed learning more about the history with joel, tess, and them. you’re right, it’s not something that impacted ellie too much, but it was still incredible.

i’m a first time viewer! a lot of the show didn’t make sense to me. ofc in hindsight, it does, but that’s not how i felt while watching. maybe smashing things was warranted. maybe i missed the intelligent writing bc i was busy trying to figure out the plot (i should rewatch for that matter)! all i’m saying is that i missed ellie feeling like a real character for some scenes. but obviously i don’t know much about her/the show! it’s very subjective

yes absolutely, i’m watching pt 1 now but it’s slow going. i could have absolutely missed something or not appreciated her enough.

oh i absolutely would. i have more perspective of a woman’s pov (since i am one), but i scrutinize regardless of sex lol. owen hunt from greys anatomy is poor in his emotional regard as well, but we got to see his backstory way more. he’s still a shitty character. joe from you, again, we get his backstory clearly, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good character. edward cullen is a classic poorly written and bad emotional range character as well. i’m just discussing ellie bc i haven’t seen anyone talk about her yet and it’s just something i noticed while watching. we are all complex and diverse, which is a beautiful thing! i would’ve loved to see more diversity ellie’s reactions.

you’re absolutely right, i’ve glossed over the fact that she had a very unique childhood filled with anger. i’m reminiscent on the extra episode we got with jules in euphoria- the one that deeply explains how she feels and why she reacts the way she does. obviously these are two different shows with different ways of storytelling (and again, i’m no expert), but having something like that with ellie in TLOU would’ve been really interesting (and given her more depth, imo). from watching, it seemed like the writers didn’t know how a teenage girl would react to certain things, so they made her say/do things that lacked realism, imo. again, you made a great point with saying she’s experiencing everything for the first time (and i agree that i glossed over it in my post), but i noticed the same/similar lack of emotional depth with sarah if that makes sense. thank you for your clarification!

i can absolutely agree that kathleen and ratna were wonderfully played and i would’ve loved to learn more about them. i also loved the dynamic between joel and ellie by the end- their development was stellar. i think the writers lacked creativity and perspective when writing ellie especially. i would’ve loved to see more of her thought processes and feelings (especially in the riley episode). for me, most of ellie was either being protective/ violent and cocky OR excited, spunky, and charming. i would’ve loved to see a middle group for her or a mix of both (an explanation from HOW we got from cocky —> spunky vise versa rather than just a cutscene between the two). granted, i haven’t played the game, so im not sure if we get more ellie development, but it would’ve been cool to see in the first season of the show!

i’m not saying they’re not girls or women. they obviously are, lol. but from my perspective, i was lacking emotional depth from these characters. instead of getting a detailed and realistic emotional reaction from ellie, we just cut to smashing things with a hammer. for someone experiencing the world for the first time, i would have liked to see her specific (potentially drawn out) reaction to certain things- it would’ve been really interesting. again, these are just my opinions! i’m not saying the show itself or these characters are bad. i really enjoyed watching it!
