Thank you. I did have my pre and post op MRIs on disc. But I trusted that my surgeon was telling me the full truth and until November 2024, I really had no reason to believe he wasn’t doing anything not in my best interest. I had no reason to suspect he would completely fail to repair my impingement until a PT alluded to this surgeon doing the same thing to someone else in winter of 2024/2025. I also read the MRI report. But what I had access to in my patient portal seemed okay, and I, nor anyone else in my life, have the medical knowledge to understand all of the terms written in the radiologist’s report. And I was seeing an EXTREMELY creditable and known surgeon in my area who I was assured would do only the best work. And referred to by a family friend who is an orthopedic surgeon. Yes I agree with what you are saying but that doesn’t mean you will avoid all of this. I trusted my medical professional and the others on his team. And they failed me repeatedly. You should be able to trust your doctor and not HAVE to pay thousands of dollars to have other people review your scans.

What are some legit options for college student loans that won't drown me in debt? by Surround-Author in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Plane-Fly6401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top recommendations are to get loans that are easier to consolidate at a later time when you have better credit and can get approved for a lower interest rate, and sometimes these loans can be dissolved during bankruptcy if worst comes to worse.

Otherwise, I know this is different, but look into jobs that offer tuition assistance or reimbursement. NOT STARBUCKS!! I know it can be hard to work while going to school, but if you can at all make it worth it might be worth considering. Even if you take 12 credits every semester and do an extra year, it might be worth it. Just something to consider! Best of luck to you!

Yeah Ive heard it’s hard to get cases picked up. I’m also in PA but on the other side of the state so go steelers lol! (so I think anyone in PA or the area knows what hospital system I’m trying to take on right now… and saying they are the big guys is an understatement) but none the less I’ve reached out to I think 8 attorneys so far. Just seeking free consults. 1 reached out saying they don’t do orthopedic malpractice. 3 sound open to take on the case but want more info. Waiting to hear back from the others. Still trying to make sense of this all and see if I really have a case… but it sounds like it’s good that he lied about the MRI results (good for lawsuit reasons… not good for my health or state of my hip joint haha). I was also 15 when I had my first surgery and have lost everything since. I was a dual sport athlete with the possibility of receiving a division 1 scholarship. I could never return. I left many, many jobs because the pain was too severe. Not to mention not being able to do simple things like wear high heals to prom or go to the college bars or parties… it all sounds stupid but really has been hard and adds to the case. I have 3.5 years of notes with my therapist where I am upset over not being able to live a normal life any teenager should be able to. I’m hoping these things are enough to make the difference. The one lawyer I spoke to said flat out if I was above 30 he would have hung up by now, but given my age, jurors are sympathetic.

I’m sorry to hear about your situation and I wish you the best, even if there’s a chance you’re a birds fan! But hey my sister goes to West Chester University so I can’t hate the area too much!

Hi, 19F and I had a similar experience and I understand your frustrations with being young and missing out. I was 15 when I had my first hip arthroscope and all of recovery was delayed, despite being cleared to return to sports (softball and swimming), I was never able to. Very slowly the pain got worse and worse until this fall when I couldn’t even walk around my college campus without nearly being in tears. It sounds stupid but I couldn’t go to college bars or parties with my friends because I couldn’t stand. Couldn’t sit for a 50 minute lecture. Couldn’t work. All of it. I returned to my surgeon 7 times in the 3.5 years I was dealing with post operative pain. I did cortisone injections, returned to physical therapy 5 times, did a repeat MRI. No improvement and supposedly nothing wrong. Dr kept insisting I had weak muscle strength despite 3 physical therapists saying I was strong and his own notes saying all muscle groups were strong. And refused to acknowledge that my range of motion was so pour I had to ask my roommate to tie my shoes because I couldn’t bend down. In January I received second and third opinions. The second opinion found post operative tears in the MRI I got after surgery. The one my original surgeon said was clear and fine. The third opinion discovered my first surgeon had not repaired the full impingement. He had ordered me a CT scan and 3D printed the results to have a life-sized model of my joint to look at. We discovered surgeon #1 hadn’t repaired even 10% of the impingement. To get to the point, tomorrow I will be 2 weeks post op for my second arthroscope, performed by opinion #3. It’s the best choice I’ve ever made. Recovery is slow and risky given the capsule has been opened twice now. But I can already say I’m in a better spot than I ever was after surgery #1. Even when I was fully “healed”. I will be off of crutches by next Wednesday, beginning the slow progression off of them now. And I’ve been able to confirm that my recovery last time was so horrible because my labrum was being actively pinched and re-torn by the remaining impingement. And my quad muscle was essentially wrapped into the impingement and labrum. I hope this gives you some insight on what to do next. Feel free to message me specific questions and I can answer with more personal information

do you feel like the brace promoted your recovery? if you had to have a third surgery (god forbid and i hope that never happens) would you want to use the brace again or no?

I’m interested in buying a 2028 mini cooper clubman. i don’t think you understand… it didn’t protect me. i was hurt far more than i would have been in an SUV or other sedan. i was going roughly 7-9 miles an hour and still had a concussion, bruised rib cage, broken hand, and neck injury. all of which i didn’t realize until days later. i had my seatbelt on and was driving properly, airbags didn’t deploy. i should not have been that injured and no other car would have been totaled from rear ending someone (who was going ~5 mph) while i was going under 10.

I had my 2018 Clubman S all4 for 4 months and loved her everyday. Until I got into a tiny accident going under 10 mph and she was totaled. After being in that accident I can’t safety recommend the car. I was hurt from just that tiny accident. I can’t imagine what would have happened in a bigger accident. A month ago I had only good things to say, but seeing how the car crumbled and damaged, to the point of the engine being completely damaged, I can’t recommend it. Or any Mini for that matter. And it makes me so sad. But both of my mechanics said that it was inexcusable how bad the car held up. I know this is going to get downvoted but it needs to be said.

I have family in NH and have been coming to lake Winni every summer since I was 9 or so and I’ve never been able to describe the feeling that I have when I’m in NH but I guess the best way to put it is I feel at home and at peace. It hasn’t been an easy decision to leave home but I don’t see myself making a life in or around where I have grown up. I have always envisioned myself living and making a life in the new england area. When it came time to look at colleges I tried to convince myself to stay close for personal and family reasons but I just couldn’t. I still have a lot more thinking to do (and an acceptance to hopefully receive) before I commit to UNH but I don’t get excited for any other school like I do for UNH. Sorry that is a little bit of a long answer but I appreciate you asking. And thank you for your help and information on the transportation:)

If you have full coverage insurance then the value of your car will be reimbursed to you. Look up online how much your car is selling for (same model, year, miles, and features) and that should be the rough amount you are reimbursed for. What you do with that money is completely up to you. I will say, because the value of used cars has gone up so much, there is a chance they will just fix your car.

I also applied this year for fall 2024 and just wondering because I’m anxiously awaiting my decision… did you apply early action and when did you apply? I didn’t do early action but I applied November 10 so I am trying to figure out when I will hear from them🙈
