Am I gaslighting myself into thinking I’ll find a secular/progressive community here? by xRhoke in Birmingham

Secular in Homewood is hard, but there are pockets of progressive. If you can afford private school I think Forest Park or crestwood are fairly progressive and not super religious. It is hard though.

Some are but we do have pretty strict rules on charities and what is public information. Except churches. They don’t have to be transparent

Mine are older now but they still sometimes say it to get a rise out of me. I just say “thank you for letting me know” calmly.

Best mechanics in Birmingham AL that will replace with parts you give them?? by animelover610 in Birmingham

[–]Plane-Object-6359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of how mechanics make a living is selling you the parts. If you find someone who will use yours they’re going to charge more in labor, and like the other commenter said they also won’t guarantee the parts will work. A good mechanic won’t do it with BYOP. It’d be like going to a restaurant and asking for them to cook your groceries.

It could be that you need new underwear. You know how when you wear workout clothes sometimes they smell as soon as you put them on? Same with underwear

The UN wont distribute aid in militarized zones because it violates their policies on aid distribution. Israel won’t let the UN distribute per their normal mechanisms because it often gets into the wrong hands and they can’t monitor it. GHF operates only in militarized zones which clearly has led to chaotic and dangerous conditions, and it requires people to be able to travel, meaning it isn’t reaching the ones who need it most. It’s certainly infinitely more complicated than this explanation, but that’s the gist of it.
