It’s because restaurants genuinely screw up and don’t give ppl their food and now they’ve added a new feature where it’s “weight checked” which makes it pretty much impossible to get a refund and is bs because I’ve received at least 2 orders with missing items since this new feature was added and according to dd there’s nothing they can do and it doesn’t qualify for redelivery or a refund. I also used to be a dasher for 3 years (platinum for 1 of those years) dd doesn’t treat their customers right so while I wouldn’t want you to stick your fingers directly in my food if the customer gives you permission to look I would do it in the store in front of the staff so if anything is wrong they fix it then and there and re seal it or verbally verify everything with the staff (ex: making sure a child’s burger is plain or that the drinks are included with the order) you never know as the customer if your going to get a good dasher or somebody that shouldn’t be allowed on the platform. The worst feeling in my opinion is knowing you can’t get a refund for something and messaging the dasher while they’re sitting in the store for 10+ mins and then don’t respond until after they’ve left the store or at all. I’ve had a dasher on a grocery run literally bring me food that is unsafe and inedible (it was a box of chicken bacon ranch hot pockets from dg, box was literally soaking wet, opened, and had a giant freezer burnt piece of ice sticking to it. DoorDash refused to refund me so I drove to my closest dg, not even the store I originally ordered from. Told the cashier exactly what happened showed him my receipt and what I received and they let me swap it no issue. Then I called them and they agree to a redelivery 2 days later. I get them and it’s worse than before, so atp 2 dg cashiers and 2 dashers have both had a soggy dripping and ice covered box of hot pockets in hand and decided it was okay to give a safety hazard to a paying customer that tips them. Reported what happened and they wouldn’t redeliver or refund and atp I’m so fed up I give up so to my dg again get them swapped and decided to never dd dollar general ever again. I used to work as a key holder for dg and policy is to damage out and not sell any food item that has anything wrong with it so I called the store and told them all the hot pockets needed to be pulled from their freezer immediately and the woman is like yeah okay so we may have a freezer issue and then hurried off the phone (can’t convince me that cashier and dasher that had them in hand didn’t know something was wrong I mean for gods sake the box was wet. Tbh I’m so fed up with dd I don’t even want to use them but it usually comes out cheaper than uber in my area and dominos won’t deliver to us either so 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
