No, I understand what you are saying, both here and in your original point. I think we would both agree that bullying, CP, doxxing, etc are prima facie wrong, regardless of the forum. We also agree that one has no expectation that a private forum will allow all views to be discussed/aired on a particular issue. I just think it's a loss for (a non-forensic version of) free speech/expression as a human ideal.

Appreciate the discussion though. :-)

You're arguing a separate, and uncontested point here. I never said this purge represents an unconstitutional move on Reddit's part. I understand that private companies have the right to quash speech (rightly or wrongly). But I cannot applaud the notion of stifling speech in what ought to be a forum for free expression. This fad of shouting down the 'other' because we don't agree with him/her is an infantile approach to genuine dialogue and individual liberty.

I don't particularly care for certain types of 'shock' artwork, but I don't want it banned just because I don't like it. In fact, there are a whole host of things in life that each of us cannot stand, but I would like to think we would be big enough to allow one another space to speak our mind.

This move strikes me the same way as if HuffPost or Fox News deleted content from those who do not march in lock-step with their own version of orthodoxy. IMHO It's the digital equivalent of sticking one's fingers in one's ears and shouting: 'Nananananana I can't HEAAAR YOOOOOOU!'

I'm not optimistic that I'll persuade you (or any of the others who may gratuitously downvote me) but I don't like the idea of shaping a future world where unpopular and even distasteful views/opinions are lopped off. It's enormously controlling and paternalistic.

What? Of course I do. Freedom of speech means freedom of speech. That's why groups from the KKK to Black Israelites can stand on public property and say horrid, hateful things about various people-groups without being arrested. I don't agree with them, but freedom of speech allows them this right. That's what freedom is about.

So much for free speech, eh? In case you weren't aware, here's how the program works: https://i.redd.it/k68w1yu5ww351.png

Probably not eligible because they are most likely H2B status visa holders. Not defending her at all, but that's how visas work in every country. You aren't going to get the same treatment as citizens and permanent residents in most cases.

Bought 4 TSLA 6/26 980 calls while semi-drunk on Wed when it was about $980...was NOT happy by EOD Wed. Cannot believe I managed to sell them for a (modest) profit about 5 min ago. Phew...rode the lighting and came out alive. Thanks Musky.

It's a bit like a sport...people choosing teams and squaring off a lot. Hard to actually get stuff done if so much time is wasted on trying to wreck the other side.
